[Part 2]After walking for a few minutes Nino finally made it in front of his dorm, and stood there in front of the door, staring at the door knob, “When I open this door, it’ll be New York on the other side.” Nino closed his eyes and flung the door opened, only to reveal the lounging area of dorm building. Well didn’t hurt to try. Before Nino could step in he was suddenly gagged and blinded folded, as he felt two people dragging him off to God only knows where.
“Well well well nice to see you doing so well my little nephew.” A voice chuckled. Nino flinched at familiar dark voice as his body began to unconsciously tremble.
“Took me a while to find you, it so rude you know. Not telling your uncle which college you got into.” The voice darkened, as Nino felt a strong kick on his stomach, knocking the wind out of him. Nino fell on his knees due to the intense pain on his stomach and felt someone take off his blindfold. And true to his assumptions his uncle was there before him, with an alcohol bottle on his hands and with his two cousins standing beside him.
“I’ll get straight to the point, tell me where you mother’s life insurance money is and I’ll be on my merry way. Then you won’t have to see me ever, and I can get that money. Everybody is happy.” His uncle clapped, as he began to slur his words. Nino knew when his uncle was drunk things often got pretty violent and his cousin would just be there smirking and laughing at his misery.
“I told you I don’t know where it is.” Nino tried to speak calmly, knowing that provoking him would make things worse.
“LIAR! I know that you have it! How else are you paying for your tuition?!” He yelled as he landed another kick at his stomach.
“You tell me where it is or I’ll make sure you’re out of this school and dragged back home.” The man threatened as he grabbed Nino by the hair. Nino winced in pain, feeling his eyes water.
“WHOSE THERE!” a campus police shouted, flaring his flashlight.
“Shit..We’ll talk later nephew..Let’s go sons.” The old man spat as the three ran away leaving Nino alone. Nino quickly pulled himself together and quickly hide hoping the campus guard won’t see him in this state.
------
Yokai laid there on his head, still pondering how on earth Nino was able to follow him through the door.
“He can summon me and follow me through the door, but can’t see anything. Who on earth are you?” The yokai whispered to himself as he kept tossing and turning on his bed.
“Hello Mr. Sasaki Shota, I’m Ninomiya Kazunari also known as Nino. In about 200 years I’ll become your bride or well groom.” He introduced.
“I’m going to marry you.” Nino simply stated.
“If he really meant what he said, then this is awkward…” Sho tossed again biting his lips. He then suddenly, as if he couldn’t take it anymore, sat up from his bed and decided, “One’s curiosity always win’s against one dignity. I am curious, so ask I shall.”
----
Nino walked aimlessly around campus wondering what he’d do now that his uncle had found out where he was, he would definitely would have to transfers school, but at this sensitive time, he wouldn’t be able to. He sighed and continue to walk until he saw a familiar figure up ahead.
“Ah…” Nino stopped as he saw the yokai now standing before him
“We just parted earlier today, and you’re already summoning me? I was very busy with something you know.” Sho scoffed, hoping the young college student would buy his lie.
“I didn’t summon you.” Nino simply stated.
          “You did.”
“I did not. This time I’m sure.” Nino sighed, too tired to fight back after what he had just been through, as he unconsciously placed his hands on his stomach, which the yokai noticed.
“Well did you think about me or not then?” Sho asked, hoping to cover up his little lie. Nino then jumped a little hiding his face under his hood hoping to hide his blush, which did not go unnoticed by the yokai.
“No way…did you seriously?” Sho gasped, seriously surprised that the young student thought about him. The thought alone somehow made the yokai secretly happy. Sho quickly gathered himself before he could be found out and made a stern expression on his face.
“I knew, it was probably what brought me here. It’s because you keep thinking about me and I get summoned.” Sho sighed, pretending to look bothered. Nino lifted his face and looked at the yokai with the most apologetic puppy looking eyes the yokai had seen.
“I’m sorry.” Nino apologized. Sho gulped as his eyes were locked unto the honey colored eyes before him.
“W-well, as long as you’re sorry…What were you thinking about exactly anyways?” Sho asked, trying to hide his stutter.
          “Well…New York.” Nino started.
“New York was beautiful…if I lived here I’d be happy. And that I wouldn’t have been able to see all of it, if it weren’t for you.” Nino stated, this time causing the yokai to turn his head away hoping that teen wouldn’t see his blush.
“Anyways…why are you wandering here? Shouldn’t you be in your dorm?” Sho asked hoping to change the subject, and calm his fast beating heart down. What is wrong with me?! Keep it together Sakurai Sho.
“I just wanted some fresh air. I couldn’t fall asleep because… Nevermind. Can I ask you to walk with me a little bit? I could really use some company right now.” Nino asked giving a small smile.
-----
The next weekend
After a few days since the incident with his uncle. Nino made sure to walk around campus carefully. He also carefully made his way throughout the city, continuing his job hunt.
“Hey mister want to try a sample takoyaki?” A young girl called out as Nino stopped in his tracks and saw the girl rolling the takoyaki on the machine. For some strange reason the scent was familiar and Nino felt drawn to the smell.
“Thanks lady.” Nino smiled as he took a bite, and gave a happy sigh.
“Believe it or not, this takoyaki used to taste like the ones this auntie used to make by where I used to live. I would always buy one after school, and they were to die for.” Nino smiled as he took another one from the sample tray.
“Well I’m glad you like it that much! Why don’t you take some! They are on me.” The young lady smiled, as she began packing the takoyaki for Nino.
“Really?! Wow Thanks uh…I’m sorry what was your name?”
“You can call me Ama-chan. Ama-chan is fine!” She smiled as she handed the takoyaki to Nino.
“Well thanks Ama-chan! I hope your business does well!” Nino waved as he continued to walk down the city to continue his job hunt.
“I’m glad that you’re doing well after all these years…Nino.” The young girl whispered as she silently continued to make her takoyaki balls.

As Nino continued to walk down the street he finally saw a small restaurant that had a “NOW HIRING” sign and headed in. The restaurant was empty and saw only a fairly young man on the table by himself with a black apron on.
“Hello! Welcome! Are you just one?” The worker suddenly greeted, as he stood up and started gathering the menus.
‘Ah..no I’m not here to eat. I actually saw the sign outside and was wondering if you were still hiring.” Nino asked.
“Really?!! Oh my god yes we are!! I’m Aiba Masaki by the way! My dad is the owner and chief here at Keikarou.” Aiba smiled, a bit too cheerfully for Nino’s taste, it was almost blinding.
“Sit down so we can discuss you’re schedule.” Aiba said as he pulled out a chair for Nino. Nino just nodded and hesitantly took the seat.
“So, are a high school student? Freshmen?” Aiba began as he brought snack to the table.
“No, I’m actually a college student. A sophomore in fact. I’m Ninomiya Kazunari. Just Nino is fine.” Nino answered.
“Okay Ninomi it is! You look so much younger though, not that it’s a bad thing.” Nino smiled slightly at that, feeling a little less awkward and kind of happy at his sudden new nickname.
“So when can you start?” Aiba asked getting his pen ready to jot down the hours.
“I can start as soon as possible if you want me that is.”
“Okay than start tomorrow for training.” Aiba smiled.
“Really? Thank you!! Yoroshiku Aiba-san” Nino cheered giving himself a fist bump.
“Hahas no need to add the san. And also for me too Yoroshiku.”

After that Nino ran back to the campus and stopped at the campus park and quickly brought out his lighter, blowing out the small flame..
“You are never going to guess what happen-”
Nino turned and stopped as he saw Sho about halfway ready to eat a high piece of steak.
“Wow….you eat such an expensive food and you can’t bother to give me 4000?” Nino playfully pouted.
“How about you use your phone or something to set up meetings like this in the future. Let’s try to be more civilized, shall we?” Sho requested upset that his precious meal was interrupted.
          “Tch..Stingy.”
“Brat.” The yokai retorted disappearing again.
-----
The reaper sighed peacefully, finally being able to go to bed as he gently lifted the blanket and placed himself underneath. Suddenly the open flung open, disrupting his peace and flung his eyes open.
“Hey what do you think? Is this outfit better?” The yokai asked spinning himself around.
          “What outfit?” The reaper asked.
          “Compared to the one before.”
The reaper sighed and sat up from his bed, wanting to get this over with as he observed Sho
          “Did you even change?”
“Dammit…then what about this book? Does it go with this outfit?” Sho asked, flashing his favorite book by his side.
“I think that I’ll be getting summoned more often than not. I want to look intelligent and perfect whenever that happens.”
“To whom?” the reaper yawned already feeling tired.
“Focus will you? I’ll leave you alone I promise.” The yokai begged, as the reaper immediately stopped and gave his two thumbs up. “You look great, you’re shining.”
“It must not look good..Better try again.”
The reaper groaned as he saw the yokai coming again with a whole new different outfit
          “What about this one.”
          “Or this one?”
          “Or this one?”
The reaper had just tucked himself under his blanket, after the hundredth outfit change, completely hoping the yokai would stop bothering him, but his peace didn’t stay long as he felt his blanket being slowly removed.
“You sleep like that? Isn’t it uncomfortable?” The yokai gasped as he saw the reaper lay with his two arms crossed around his chest, like an old vampire sleeping on a coffin.
“It’s comfortable to me so leave me alone.” The reaper groaned bringing the blanket over his head.
“No stop it.” Sho said, bringing the blanket off, “Are you at a morgue? Do you need me to get you a flower?
“Just let me sleep dammit!!” the reaper yelled throwing at the yokai and kicking him out of his room.
------
The next morning
A huge rain storm was pouring down the city of Tokyo and news report were warning the citizen to watch out and notifying bus delays.
“Uncle are you ok? It just suddenly started pouring outside and I thought that maybe you had something to do with…” The young heir stopped as he opened the door to his the yokai crumply lying on his bed.
          “I knew it…Uncle what’s wrong?”
          “Satoshi..”
          “Yeah?”
“I think it’s finally time for you to know the secret of your family.” The yokai started.
          “You see I’m-.”
“A yokai?” Satoshi answered. The yokai suddenly sprang up sitting on his bed with wide eyes
          “Or is it something else?”
“Since when did you know?” Sho asked.
“Since I was eight. Although I had my suspicions when I was six. Whenever you got drunk you would make gold bars appear and boast at me.”
“Look here Satoshi *hiccup* gold!” The yokai smiled, taking a sip of his beer
“Is this all for me?” Little Satoshi gasped holding one of the gold. Sho then looked at the young heir seriously for a moment then giving a drunken smile.
“Nope not for you! Too bad!!” He laughed causing the young boy to pout.
“I knew then you couldn’t be my real uncle.”
“Look now. You’re like this so how can I not notice.” The young heir chuckled as the yokai was levitating in the air with his meditation pose and his eyes closed.
“So you mean to tell me that you knew that I was a yokai since you were six?”
          “Hmm.”
“And you knew this fact and brought in a random stranger in the house?! And here I was feeling guilty of not telling you who I really was all these years.” The yokai yelled, causing thunder and lightning to erupt as if reacting to the yokai, as Satoshi gave a nervous laugh.
“Heehee I said I was sorry about that… Like I said the poor man needed a place to stay..” The yokai sighed as he levitated himself back to his bed and heading out of his room to get a cup of tea in the kitchen.

Just then he saw the reaper coming out of his room with his neat black suit and his signature black fedora hat in his hands.
          “Going to work?”
“What do you think? That I dress in this black suit to go to the clubs?”
“True. Speaking of which just seeing that hat, really reminds me of how great that hat is.” The yokai complimented earning a small smile from the reaper.
“It makes you look funny when you take away the dead.” The yokai added immediately causing the reaper’s smile to disappear and replacing it with his deadly glare.
“Hey! It’s not my fault that this is the uniform I have to wear! The dead only recognize me when I wear this hat and this hat helps us invisible from human so we can work peacefully!” The Reaper retorted stomping away out the door with his hat on his head before hearing any more remarks from the yokai.
“Itterashaii.” The yokai smirked taking a sip of his tea, while sitting on his chair and fiddling with his favorite book, like he was waiting for something to happen or more waiting to be summoned by a certain college student.
-------
“What are you doing?” A voice suddenly called out causing Nino to flinch.
“Oh it’s you…haven’t seen you in a while.” Nino slightly smiled as he continued to cut the thin plastic. The woman smiled as she took a seat across from Nino and began to watch him silently.
“Are you laminating something?” The woman asked looking around and saw the four leave clover between the two thin plastic that was glued together.
“Oh you’re laminating that clover?” The woman smiled earning a small nod from Nino.
“I used to help my mom laminate her favorite orange blossom since she was said she couldn’t preserve the one my dad gave her. She told me if I find something special that I mus,t whatever it cost, protect it and preserve it. And so I wanted to do it with the clover.” Nino explained as the woman nodded in acknowledgement and continued to observe Nino.
-That night-
Nino sat at a nearby park from the campus nervously as he took out his lighter and blew the flame, knowing his yokai would appear.
“Hey I’m sorry if I called at a bad time I wanted to give-“ Nino stopped as he turned to see a familiar shadowed figure right behind him. Nino turned immediately making it seemed that he couldn’t see anything, however the figure was not convinced.
“Ah…my hat…I forgot my lucky hat.” Nino stuttered as he began to nervously fiddle with his hair.
“I knew it…it is you isn’t it? The boy from all those years ago,.” The Shinigami asked, even though already knowing the answer.
“Ah that right I forgot my textbook at the library. I should go get it, I have an exam I need to study for.” Nino spoke to himself, trying his best to ignore the Shinigami and turned to walk away, however the reaper appeared in front of Nino and stopping him in his tracks.
“There’s no use. I know you can see me and there is nobody here to protect you now missing soul.” The Shinigami stated.
“Well didn’t hurt to try right?” Nino sighed trying to get his nerves under control.
“You moved. I’ve been looking for you for 10 years you know. And I finally found you.” The Shinigami spoke, but in a gently tone that kind of surprised Nino.
“You know humans would call this stalking you know that right? And I thought I was in the clear cause you don’t have me name card.” Nino tried to retort.
“Like I said you’re a missing soul. It took me years to gather nine years’ worth of documents that time, and now I need to gather the ten more years because you decided to run away.” The reaper counter argued, but his tone was still gentle but slightly irritated.
“Then….Then what’s going to happen to me now? I'm just 19 years old dammit.” Nino choked trying his best to hold his tears.
“There many that died at the age of 10 or even 9. That’s what death is..It’s not predicted or calculated.” The Shinigami explained as Nino looked down almost seeing his very life flash before his eyes.
“But I see that you are also with someone this time as well.” The Shinigami sighed, as he turned and saw his unpleasant housemate glaring back at him. Nino quickly turned and saw the yokai and ran up to cover his eyes.
“Don’t look, and close your eyes! He’s a Shinigami.” Nino warned covering the yokai's eye to protect him, only to have his hands removed away.
“Don’t worry. We’ve met.” Sho reassured taking one of Nino’s hands in reassurance, casuing Nino's heart to speed up a little.
“You must be still working.” The yokai greeted, giving the reaper a stern look.
“I am but what are you doing?” The reaper replied crossing his arm around his chest and giving his right brow a suspicious raise.
“I’m meddling with a human’s life and death.”
“And you’re making a big mistake you know that. That boy was due 19 years ago.” The reaper stated, as the thunder roared in the sky as if giving the reaper a warning.
“Do I look like I want to hear an explanation?” The yokai snarled, giving him the coldest glare that would even put a shinigami’s death glare to shame….well except of this Shinigami.
“Didn’t you learn to pay attention when a yokai talks seriously?” The yokai spoke telepathically to the reaper.
“You know that this can’t be avoided. If the case on this boy gets procrastinated and not resolved, the gods will intervene and you know better than anyone to let it get that far. Even I won’t be able to help you at that point. Not that I’m saying I will. But your choice yokai.” The reaper argued back telepathically.
“Ummm I don’t about you, but don’t you think we should run for it while we can?” Nino whispered.
“Don’t worry he won’t take you not now not ever. No sane Shinigami can take a man to wants to marry a yokai.” Sho reassured as he continued to glare at the Shinigami who was in turned observing Nino.
“I see then he must be-“
“That’s right I’m that famous yokai’s bride…I mean groom. Are you still going to take me now?” Nino retorted as he tried to fight back but still had one of his hand clung unto Sho's sleeve.
Just then police sirens were echoing on the streets that were away from the park, causing the three to turned their heads towards the noise.
“Well since I’m the bad guy here and by the sound of the sirens I'm needed someplace else, I will take my leave. We’ll talk more later yokai. I’ll be seeing you again…Shounen” The reaper smirked as he disappeared. Nino sighed in relief, then turned his head towards the yokai, as he stomped his foot continuously in annoyance.
“So are you going to keep on denying that I’m not your chosen one? Even when you just admitted it to that shinigami?” Nino pouted crossing his arms across his chest.
“I only said that to get the reaper of your back. But I’m telling you I’m not your yokai.” Sho denied..again.
“My bride…or partner has to see the one thing that only my partner can see and if you can’t see it then you’re not the one. You have no value to me. He explained.
“Straight forward as always and hurtful too.” Nino scoffed, feeling the slight pain at the yokai’s comment, not that he's ever going to let the yokai know that.
“No need to get hurt…believe me..It’s a blessing that you’re not this yokai’s bride. If you did see something on me, it will only give you pain and regret.” Sho spoke sternly, as he tried to have his poker face on.
“So please don’t summon me with false hope.” The yokai requested, and Nino couldn’t help but feel the sadness in that requested, as he saw the yokai leave.
----
The yokai returned home and saw the reaper sitting on the living room couch as if waiting for his return.
“So it finally happening...Are you going to die? Rumor has it that the yokai’s bride or groom in your case means your death.” The reaper asked, looking at the yokai with a serious expression.
“Unfortunately, I won’t be able to. He can’t see it..” The yokai replied.
          “See what?”
“The sword that he needs to pull out of me to kill me.”
