DR/LR Pics
Some decor eye candy!
I realized I never posted pics of our DR/LR since we pretty much finished the space (still need window treatments and want to mount the TV-two things which will still be a while)
But I snapped some pics today after I did a little fall decorating to send to my mom. Love that this season matches our color palate!
Some of my favorite elements;
* the grass cloth focus wall in the DR-the texture is so beautiful and really brings warmth and interest to the room.
*the burnt orange banquette- its gorgeous & comfy! I love having a long bench at the table. You can't tell from this pic, but the fabric on the head chairs is a fine print flecked with gold and the side chair seat cushions are also a print w:small orange square dots. There are also bolster pillows on the banquette in yet another coordinated fabric.
I love how this turned out and we are really enjoying having a large dedicated dining space!
A slightly different angle from where I'm sitting (on our sectional)
*I'm in love with this painted antique TV cabinet I found at this random Asian import furniture store. It fits the space perfectly, has wonderful storage for TV components & kids games, and I love that it brings a little of that old/shabby feeling to the room.
*our custom ottoman also turned out awesome. It's a nice pop of color on this side of the room and balances the orange banquette perfectly.
*you'll notice our new square fish tank on the stand in front of the subway art (need to raise the picture now that the tank is there.). The tank was part of the boys' back to school gift. It's actually this awesome water feature/fountain that gurgles up water and recycles it back into the tank. It's amazingly zen-like and relaxing. We love it.
The other side of the room
*big fan of the velvet dark blue side chair we have there by the window. It was a Room & Board find and is another nice contrast and color. The walls, carpet and couch are pretty light, so this chair is kind of grounding. You can't see in this picture but on the window sill behind the chair, I have a collection of dark orange antique glass bottles that I found at a consignment shop in Utah this summer and shipped home. They are really neat and glow in the sunlight.
*the directors spotlight and drum shade pendant make for fun & interesting lighting in the room.

There was this random wall nook and since we have a sectional it would have been dead space so I had our contractor line the wall w/left over grass cloth and build in shelved so we would have display space. It's perfect.
*love this awesome floating wall clock that I spied at a shop in California. It's like a piece of art in the room.
Shot of the wall to the left of the DR table. Behind one of the head chairs we have our china cabinet which displays pics and our fun terrarium that we put together this summer (this is an old pic). Now has seasonal decor on it-I'll take a picture.
There are more angles to share...just need to take some better pics.
