La Push was a totally fine town, don't get Caroline wrong, but God had she loved getting to spend a day in Seattle doing all the touristy things she could think of and picking up a few more souvenirs (for herself this time). When it came time to head out to the camp ground, she had to hold back from complaining and trying to entice Jake to take up a hotel room with her. But plans were plans, and she weirdly liked the whole camping thing, so she smiled and got in the car without any stress.

The ride was a long one and Caroline had fully intended to spend the trip getting answers to all her questions about Jake's childhood and his friends and maybe even his family. Okay, so maybe that was another reason she wasn't complaining. The problem was, ten minutes outside of the city the lack of a good night's sleep finally got to her and Caroline passed out, warm and safe in the front seat of the little car. It was better than Jake could have planned.

Caroline barely stirred when the car slowed with traffic or even when they finally came to a stop. Maybe if he gave her just five more minutes, she'd wake up on her own and be pleasant through the camp building process. Or maybe there was a greater probability he'd rejoin his old pack.

[For the driver.]

people: jake the puppy sans tutu, fact: not meant to camp, places: wilderness ooh
