Hmmm... the British part might be the hook... stillsukaycirquegirlDecember 23 2006, 04:18:48 UTC
here goes... in no particular order... Do They Know it's Christmas was recorded at the end of 84... so I'll try to keep the list to the early-mid 80s.
Female singers and/or bands that had female singers...
Kim Wilde, ABBA, The Pretenders (later in the 80s maybe???), Roxy Music, The Human League, The Thompsan Twins, Toni Basil, Bananarama (yeah ... they were there but why not singing a lead part??), Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (hmmm... maybe later 80s w/ them), Yazoo (later known as just Yaz), Blondie (later 80s?), Fleetwood Mac (ok... they were more the 70s but they did have a hit or two in the early 80s), Bonnie Tyler (gawd do I HATE that song... but it was a huge hit), The Eurythmics!!!!!, Sade, Cindi Lauper, Madonna, Nena (and her 99 bilingual balloons), Siouxsie and the Banshees (still one of my favorites), Chaka Khan (I should have hated her... but somehow I didn't), The Go Gos (later 80s??), The Bangles (dang... the whole decade is just a blur now, I think they were later too)... Olivia Newton John... ok... my brain is empty now.
