Why I felt the urge to write, I really don’t know. My mind has been straying away from the textbook for some time now.
Last night Becca, Beth, Jane, Jeanette and I went to see House Bunny. I then went with Nicole and Colleen to Dairy Queen. It was fun. I stayed with them in the village this weekend, along with Vicky. Monica went home.
Classes started. Way too early in my opinion. Summertime flew past so quickly. I miss spending an entire day walking in the park, reading in cafes and looking at shop windows. It doesn’t seem much, I know, but it's what I like to do at times, and I got to do just that this Summer. We did not make it to the Outerbanks. Jansi had to go to medschool. We did however, had many sleepovers.
Tiffany came to visit. We went to the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the beach/aquarium, the zoo, the toy store, and then Rent on Broadway. We had a different cuisine each day. Her favorite was Ethiopian. And mine, I didn't have a favorite. I liked them all. We also got to play in the rain. I taught Tiffany how to roller blade. She did it really well. We watched the thunderstorm on my door steps until mom came home. She thought we were crazy for getting ourselves all wet.
The night before I left, Mom and Dad surprised me with cheesecake and wine. It made me feel special. Unpleasantly light headed, as well. Dad’s fault. Mom thought so, too.
On my way to Cleveland, I got to visit Mallory in D.C.. I missed her a lot.
I didn't want to come back. But it felt good to see everyone again. Truly. I am living in the DG house this year. I like it. In my hall is Rebecca, Beth, Amanda and Alli. Becca and I painted my room a light yellow. Moonlight Dance is what they call it. I like it. It’s pretty.
I enjoy all my classes this semester. We are working with pregnant women, babies, and children. During clinical on Wednesday, we assessed a newborn baby. Holding her made me feel like she had a little piece of my heart. Babies I've learned always have a way of doing that to you. She was very precious. Very small.
The soccer game is still going on outside, I hear it. Time to do work now, or try to.
Love,
Cathy
