1)Well save up as much money as you can.
2)try to make as many connections as you can out here in advance. Social networking. (my weak point)
3)resume building/polishing.
4)get in shape, make sure you have some hobbies (Trust me - I have been asked about my personal life in every interview, they don't want just a worker, they want buddies to do fun stuff with outside of work. work hard - play hard)

5)make sure you allocate money for a vehicle (my mistake), the transportation system is great, but thats also it's disadvantage, too many people can get to too many people so it helps to get away from the rat race.

It should improve, my host wonders if it will collapse completely like detroit, but I find that unlikely, it's much bigger than detroit, and it is improving slowly.
At my last interview I was told ominously that a lot of people come here and find themselves unable to survive here.

With me, I didn't have enough support, and couldn't stay any longer, and have no where else to go, so I'm here through thick and thin struggling to get a foothold.

Once I get more stabilized, and a stronger foothold I might be able to offer some assistance, and maybe crash space. Who knows. We will see.
