Tomorrow I am...
Taking my last final at 8am
Turning in my last paper at 8am
Moving out of my dorm by 5pm
My life is ridiculous right now. I will be officially done with my first year of college tomorrow. What? That's ridiculous. This time just one year ago I was bull-shitting my way through my senior internship and just waiting to graduate. I really didn't think I would make it this far. When I graduated high school I thought to myself, "Well...let's try this college thing for fun and see how long it lasts." It's been an amazing year...so, while I'm procrastinating, let's recap:
I met my best friend, wife, and roommate, Allison. I would not have survived this year without her.
I met an overwhelming amount of other awesome friends through dorm connections, including people that I might not keep in touch with...but it was awesome spending time with them while it lasted.
I had lots of fun escapades/mistakes first semester...none of which I regret.
I drank way too much way too often.
I decided to stop smoking pot.
I quit smoking cigarettes.
I fell in love with dancing all over again, thanks to Scott Puttman and the amazing dancers in the department.
I made so many great friends in the dance department, especially Amelia, who is one of the greatest friends I could ever ask for.
I presented my own choreography on stage for the first time.
I was asked to be in numerous works by several dancers.
I fell met and fell in love with Roberto, who is the most amazing and passionate person I've ever met. We're so good together, and I hope this lasts for a long time.
I met all of his friends, whom I now consider my own friends, and are all crazy/awesome people.
I lost some one truly inspirational and meaningful to me, Tom Fox. But through this loss I realized I have so many other inspirational people in my life...Allison, Amelia, Roberto....who helped/are helping me through it. Plus I got a tattoo out of the whole thing.
I went through the painful/stressful/frustrating process of apartment-hunting with Allison, and in the end we found a fantastic house and an extra roommate, my girl Cassie. Four girls, a cat, a rat, a ferret, and one bathroom. I can't wait to get in there and make it our home.
....And that's not even half of it. Even though I'll be stuck in Baltimore, I can't wait for the summer. There will be working and classes, but also going to the beach, and camping, and seeing Berto on the weekends, and taking time off to go down to the house and chill with the roomies, Allison and Cassie and Sam, and all of their pets. As lame as it sounds, I really feel like I've changed an immense amount since last year. I don't miss high school. I can't wait for the rest of this ridiculous reality called college.
