Sometimes I wonder if it was serendipity that kept me from having a life that involved a mental hospital.

Sometimes I wonder if serendipity will keep me from having a life that involves time in a mental hospital.

If memory serves, the disorder is called "ASP" or "Anti-Social Personality" (no, I'm not making this up! :)) and it usually involves (as part of its diagnosing criteria) someone who manipulates others emotionally/mentally to acheive his/her personal goals, irrespective of the manipulated party's feelings/morals/etc. As I've known you for quite some time personally, I think that you don't do this--at least no more than anyone else I know, and, in fact, you're more careful about NOT doing this than a lot of ppl I know...

Think Michael Alig (or Macaulay Culkin in "Party Monster"), Scott Petersen, or just about anyone who's been busted for BIG time fraud/con scandals, and you'll see ppl w/ASP.

No--I *don't* think this is you--but you have the "Why work WITH society?!" part w/these other ppl--and if you were being diagnosed SOLELY on the "no-society" bit, this is what they'd probably come up with.

Personally, I think you have a SANE reaction to an INSANE world. I'd be more worried if you decided to shave your head, wear a monkey suit, and headed to IBM or something...! ;D

IBM ewwwww...

See, I think I could be that manipulative, I just somewhere understand with some strange philisophically ethical reasoning that it is immoral to do so - that and it just looks like so much effort.

Hmm, too bad I'm not crazy - though I still think they make pills for what I have :)
