Ten days.

Hankyung would be gone for ten days and Heechul was sleeping just fine with that knowledge floating around in his head. Or would be sleeping just fine, if only Hankyung's face and silly grin weren't imprinted on the back of his eyelids keeping him awake. He was sick of Hankyung and his accent and the sound of his voice first thing in the morning and Heechul was happy that he'd be leaving the next day. Unimaginably happy.

Heechul kicked off his quilt, annoyed, and stomped out of his room and into Hankyung's.

"You better bring me back a present," he said, standing over Hankyung.

Hankyung rubbed at his eyes, and then blinked tiredly at Heechul. "What?"

Heechul pulled back the covers and crawled into the bed next to Hankyung. He wrapped himself around Hankyung as tightly as possible and rested his head on Hankyung's shoulder. "Don't forget about me, either."

"No one could forget you," murmured Hankyung, mouth pressed to Heechul's forehead. "Especially not me."

Heechul waited until Hankyung's breathing had evened out, that he was sure Hankyung was asleep, before he closed his eyes.

So happy, in fact, that Heechul knew he wouldn't miss Hankyung even one bit when he was gone. Not at all.

Nine days.

Hankyung had been away for one day and Heechul was perfectly content with that. So completely, terribly, horribly content.

Though they had their information all wrong, Heechul thought it was understandable how no one else could tell just exactly how okay he was. Heechul had checked his own cell phone roughly every ten minutes since Hankyung's plane had taken off, Shiwon's phone was taken every twenty minutes, and once an hour Heechul made sure no one else in Super Junior had heard from Hankyung either. It wasn't that Heechul was worried or cared or wanted to hear Hankyung's voice, really, it was just that he was supposed to call Heechul and he hadn't. There were rules about such things filed under 'What Heechul Wants; Heechul Gets' and Hankyung was breaking those rules.

"It's all right to miss him," Shiwon said, hugging Heechul to himself.

Heechul snorted. "I don't miss him."

Shiwon kissed Heechul's cheek and smiled. "I do, too."

"Stop being so sentimental," said Heechul. He wasn't half as annoyed as he sounded, but Shiwon didn't need to know that - though he probably already did. "I'll let you stay the night if it will make you feel better."

Eight days.

Heechul still did not care any more than was absolutely necessary about Hankyung being in China for two days already. And it wasn't necessary to care all that much. Of course he wouldn't be too adverse to Hankyung coming back sooner or maybe if he hadn't left in the first place, but Heechul couldn't change that and, really, that was just fine with him.

Heechul had woken up clinging to Shiwon in Hankyung's bed and, for just a moment, everything had felt right. Then Heechul had had remembered that it was the bed that still smelled like Hankyung and when he looked at Shiwon, Heechul could see the frown line between his eyes. Heechul would admit then, privately, that maybe he cared more than he wanted to because Shiwon, at least, always looked peaceful in his sleep when Hankyung was around. Heechul still didn't miss him or anything, though.

"Wake up," Heechul nudged Shiwon with his foot. He stood from the bed and threw his shirt in Shiwon's face, effectively getting his attention. "I have to take a shower," said Heechul, and paused at the door. "Are you coming?"

Seven days.

Hankyung had been home - but not the right home, Heechul wanted to say - for three days. Three very long, uneventful days in which Hankyung apparently couldn't be bothered to pick up a phone and tell Heechul all about the things he planned to buy to buy as gifts.

Except Hankyung did call, only it was Shiwon's phone because Heechul's had gone dead in the afternoon after three days of it never leaving Heechul's sight. So Heechul had to wait until Shiwon came over to his apartment that night to find any of it out and, Heechul argued, none of that would have happened if Hankyung had only called earlier. It was only right, Heechul decided, that he would have to get new friends who were more considerate of his feelings and called when they said they would.

"You said you wouldn't forget me," accused Heechul.

"I didn't," replied Hankyung, "I was busy, there wasn't time."

"Shiwon misses you," Heechul cut in. "He's been sad and needy without you. Come back soon or else he'll become more annoying than I can stand."

Shiwon turned to him; eyebrow raised, and looked like he was trying not to laugh outright at Heechul's statement of his behavior. "Sad and needy?" he asked. Heechul ignored him.

Hankyung laughed softly, voice slightly distorted through the phone lines. "I miss you both, too."

Six days.

Heechul couldn't help but to think that perhaps he was acting a little like a lovesick child, pining away and overindulging on chocolates.

It wasn't his fault, though, that Hankyung's bed was comfortable and warm and nice to curl up on, or that Shiwon was busy and Heechul wasn't, or even that someone had left a bag of chocopies on the kitchen counter without putting their name on it first. Those things just happened and Heechul thought that if Hankyung was around then things would be different; so really, Hankyung was to blame for the inevitable crumbs in his own bed.

Heechul sighed, turned over, and considered it extremely unfair that Shiwon had not only been amused at Heechul's suffering, but that he wasn't there to keep Heechul company like he should be.

Five days.

Heechul had completely taken over Hankyung's bedroom in his absence. Heechul had added some of his own clothes to Hankyung's closet, pictures of him were placed on the walls, and the floor was a mess of things that belonged mostly to Heechul, but it was hard to tell.

"Do you act like this when I'm away?" Shiwon asked, lips against Heechul's collarbone.

Heechul ran his fingers through Shiwon's hair. "Shut up."

Four days.

Heechul was in a spectacularly good mood, in comparison to how he had been the last few days, that had absolutely nothing at all to do with waking up to the sound of Shiwon quietly, sleepily talking in broken Chinese, or how when Heechul had grabbed the phone away from Shiwon, Hankyung had told him that he had called to say 'Good Morning' because he'd been thinking of the both of them and wanted to hear their voices. Really, Hankyung could be incredibly sappy, Heechul thought.

As nice as it was, however, what Heechul really wanted was for Hankyung to return to Korea, to his own bed, and to say those things in person. If only for Shiwon who, quite obviously, missed Hankyung a lot more than he let on. Completely unlike Heechul, because Heechul barely noticed Hankyung missing at all.

Three days.

Heechul was maybe, just a tiny little bit, excited to see him back. Not that he'd let anyone know he felt that way, but, to himself, Heechul knew he did miss Hankyung. But only a little.

Two days.

There were so many things Heechul needed to do and say and think because his life hadn't slowed down just because Hankyung had left the country for over a week, but all Heechul could concentrate on was the slow countdown of the clock until he could go home and the day would be over.

One day; one hour.

Hankyung had been in Korea for one hour before he was finally able to step foot back in his apartment. In no time at all Heechul had completely attached himself to Hankyung and refused to let go until Hankyung had said that he really couldn't breathe with Heechul squeezing him like that, and Shiwon had pried Heechul's fingers from his shirt. Shiwon laughed at Heechul's frown, and then picked up Hankyung's suitcase and carried it over to the bedroom.

"So, what did you get me?" Heechul asked, and pulled Hankyung after Shiwon.
