Help Victims of Hurricane Katrina

Sep 07, 2005 09:59

For immediate release:

Philadelphia musicians will be uniting to aid those affected by Hurricane Katrina in the US Gulf Coast. On Sunday, 9/11, Club 218 in Philadelphia will be hosting an all day, all evening benefit concert featuring concerned artists and bands from the region.

There will be a $10 suggested donation to the event and all admission proceeds will be donated to The Red Cross and other non-profit charities that are leading the releif effort. Club 218 will also be donating 10% of its sales to the relief effort.

Bands and artists who want to respond and raise relief funds for victims and refugees of the catastrophe, please contact me at ottsville@hotmail.com or www.myspace.com/sweetcreek

We are also seeking corporate sponsors to match the funds raised in the local effort spearheaded by our local musicians. If you have leads in this regard, please help us get in touch.

Club 218 in Philadelphia is looking to immediately organize benefit concerts.

This may be the first in a series.

New Orleans is a national cultural treasure, the heart of our most distinct and creative arts and music. It is only fitting that Philadelphia's artists lead our response.
