Name: Mildred Jillian McLaughlin-Lampart
Nickname: Millie
Age/Birthdate: July 18, 1964. 44 years old.

Occupation: Renaissance Art Professor, NYU
Fairytale: Geppetto from Pinocchio
Ability, if any: She can whittle...and sadly has a rather impressive collection of porcelain dolls.
Status: She's not shy about her role in the world of Tales. In fact, Mildred has been an active participant for many years, although, a trip to visit her parents in England has had her a bit tied up for several months.
History:
Mildred was born on July 18, 1964, in Nottingham, England to Marianne Campbell-Lampart, a Renaissance Literature professor, and Luther Thomas Lampart, an owner of an art Gallery. She was the second child of four, taking after her rather eccentric father in both looks and personality.
While her older sister Janice was busy traveling with Luther, Mildred began her life of art. At the age of four, she took up ballet and took music lessons for the violin and piano. Mildred’s childhood was spent in and out of art galleries, art exhibits, universities and the theatre. She participated in ballet until she was ten and took violin and piano lessons until she was in her early twenties. When she wasn’t busy attempting to make art, she was following her three cousins to London during the summers and navigated the local parks and woods.
Due to Luther’s traveling schedule, Mildred found a father figure in her mother’s closest friend and colleague, Professor Jonathon Hart. Jonathan kept a steady role in her life, satiating her curiosity of art history as well as continuing her violin lessons and just being the shoulder to cry on. She’d often steal down to the university after school to sit in the back of his lectures, often staying late into the night to learn about the history he did not cover in his lessons.
At eighteen she had applied and made it into the University of Liverpool, where she planned to take her musical abilities and expand on them. While attending the music institute, Mildred discovered that she was Geppetto at the age of twenty-one. It wasn’t necessarily a trademark moment in her life, for she did not know the gravity of it, but allowed her insight into a world that she had only imagined existed. The first several years saw her hidden in her studies and books, as she had no time to become seriously involved with the scattered community.
At twenty-one, Mildred found herself engaged to Julian Hertz, a cellist who shared her love for music and apartment. Several months later they were married, broke, but happy. It wasn’t until Jonathan Hart died, when she was twenty-three, that Mildred was given a sharp look at the direction of her life. Although she was a good musician, it would not make her a living, and traveling with Julian was proving to be difficult on her connections with her family. With the past lessons from her mentor on her mind and his last plead for her to make better of her life, Mildred continued her education in Renaissance art at the Royal College of Art. This move set the stone for her divorce with Julian just a year and a half after their marriage. Something she is still known to regret to this day.
After completing her studies at Royal College, Mildred was accepted into Oxford’s Ph.D. programme. It was there that her curiosity was peeked and she began taking a deeper look into the world of Tales. With optimism in hand, she set out to learn all there was, and became an active member in England. Upon graduating from Oxford, she was full of stories of the large Tale population in New York, and with her growing desire to meet others like herself, she boarded a plane to New York City.
In the Big Apple, she started an art Gallery called Attic Art. It struggled in the first years of business, but with her father’s influence, she was able to get the store on its feet. Once she had established a secure presence in the mortal New York, she began her search to establish herself in the Tale world, finally finding her place as a professor at NYU. With such a position, she felt that she could keep her eyes on the young, and more reckless of the tales, and keep them in line.
Now, at forty-four, with a steady life and good income, she lives in an apartment not far from her gallery. She often entertains her eldest sister, Janice, but has remained out of touch with her younger brother, Jackson, and youngest sister Stephanie. When the occasion calls for it, she returns to Nottingham to visit her aging parents and old friends. She continues to keep an illegitimate role as a matron in the community, and is known to give up her time to make sure that the other reincarnations are all doing well.
Personality:
First Impression: "Mildred Lampart? Oh, you mean Millie! What a treat, kept me from failing my other courses. She’s a sweetheart."
Like her past self, Mildred finds herself following the naive hope that she can bestow the wonders of morality among the empty heads of her young students. She doesn't lack Geppetto's knack for threatening the little dearies, however, and therefore must work to retain a thoroughly pleasant demeanor in the toughest of situations. If strings need to be pulled to insure the safety of her students or those she cares about, Mildred will happily play the puppeteer once more. When the time is right, though, she is always willing to cut the binding cords, knowing very well the lessons that freedom can give.
Playful by nature, she always keeps a joke up her sleeve, certain that they can be used in any situation. Whether the joke be on herself or the closest person at hand, it always appears, smile ready and cackle present.
Although childish at times, Mildred makes herself available for advice and guidance, but will draw a line when the favors border servitude. Levelheaded and wary of the world around her, she does not tolerate liars, and she often finds herself preaching. But such a thing, Mildred believes, will lead to the growth of her students into virtuous little boys and girls.
As Geppetto did in the past, Mildred makes up for the lack of children by living vicariously through others and manifesting her matronly feelings into a chosen group of children, characters, and students. She believes that if she can keep those particular people in line, then she has fulfilled her role as a mother and has done her Tale justice.
Speech: Gravelly, as if she’s had far too many cigarettes in her lifetime. Subtle English accent often muffled by her careful diction.
Likes: Talking, peach tea, pear tea, tea, tea, tea, etc. Theatre, poetry, Classical, Oldies Rock, pasta, woodwork, walking, traffic, rain, violin, piano.
Dislikes: Abstract art, frivolous fighting, tardiness, getting lost, dependency, ungratefulness, snow, smog, snark. The two-party American political system.
Turn ons: Independence, open mind, dry humor, willful.
Turn offs: The arrogant and headstrong.
Mannerisms, habits and oddities: Mildred talks with her hands and often throws them up in the air when surprised. She has a habit of rubbing her chin when thinking and hunches over when delivering details that are particularly important. She’s known to be a touchy talker, often laying a hand on someone’s arm when she is speaking to them. She advises that you do not call her, for she pushes a variety of buttons on the phone just to see what tone they make. Mildred would like you to know that if you drive with her she sings along with the radio. Poorly. She cackles instead of laughs, and dances like a drunkard.
Motto: "Consistencies don’t make people, they make robots. Contradiction is the key to being human, the key to success, and the key to interesting company."
Appearance:
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 125

Style: Remember your aunt who use to wear those khaki pants and sported sweaters and scarves tied around her neck? Mildred could be her twin. She has as a love for large hats and wears sunglasses during the rain. Sun dresses? Why of course! The chain with glasses around her neck? Can’t go without them.

Mildred vs. Geppetto:
Believing that it is a gift, Mildred has embraced her role as Geppetto. She remains true to her past self by being polite and caring toward all. The professor often finds herself giving the term of endearments, poppet, dearie, and darling to any poor soul that talks to her for more than ten minutes, and can't help but find this small quirk quite amusing.
Fading:
Geppetto? Fading already? Her thoughts exactly, but as her health continues to take turns for the worst, Mildred can't help but wonder what is truly happening. Her family's longevity and good health have her turning away from truly mortal problems to the belief that the soul of her tale has become ill.
Why is Geppetto failing? Not the most known character in folk lore, Geppetto still is common knowledge. Perhaps, though, there are more people across the globe who do not know his name than there are who do. Whatever it is, Mildred has come to the conclusion that even characters from well known tales aren't necessarily granted immunity from the death of immortality. Herself included.
How does she feel about this? Mildred has fight in her. When she does become ill, it's not has terrible as one would suspect, making her believe that she'll still live a long life, but she knows the next Geppetto may not. Still, she hopes to figure a way to prevent this from happening. How? She doesn't know yet.
