I woke up early this morning after sleeping all day yesterday to find the ground covered in at least four inches of snow. My driveway had been shoveled and there was only a thin layer, piles alongside it in my yard. The evergreen tree in our front yard was drooping from all the snow. It looked perfect.
My logical conclusion: take a walk.
I walked around my entire neighborhood, listening to Christmas songs as I went. It was a mix of classic Christmas songs, Relient K, Kristin Chenoweth, and stuff by Spring Awakening people I *borrowed* from youtube. My walking pace quickened whenever a more up-beat song came on, which had me practically wading through six inches of snow in time with
this song. It made me really tired, but it was fun.
Then I came back home and made myself chamomile tea while emptying the dishwasher and listening to more Christmas music. It really was the perfect start to the morning. Then my mom and I drove my brother to his airsoft game and listened to Christmas music on the way home. There was snow everywhere, and even though it wasn't snowing, it was still beautiful.
This is what wintertime is supposed to be like. There is supposed to be snow on the ground and Christmas lights are supposed to be up and people are supposed to smile and be cheerful. And that's what today has been like: Christmas. I hope the real thing is the same.
Good day, love.
