What she had been before was crushed like carrion on the wayside under the immense weight of an infinite existence. Simply obliterated by that titanic, ageless rock.
It hadn't even been intentional. By the time she realised what had happened, all she could do was pick up the pieces. It did leave her the problem of what to do with it, however. Especially now, in this fragile, time-bound world she wasn't the least familiar with.
Hence, schooling was simply the best of all possible options. Aware of her own ignorance, she moved to correct it. The replacement hands, still giving her motion whilst her originals lay in storage, developed on the campus were... functional, but extremely fragile. They lacked that familiar weight.
But they'd suffice. It was only temporary; all she had to do was wait.]
