31 марта 2016 Трамп проводит встречу со своими советниками по национальной безопасности, с участием Папанопулоса и Сешнса. Папанопулос “stated, in sum and substance, that he had connections that could help arrange a meeting between then-candidate Trump and President Putin.”

26 апреля 2016 Встреча с "профессором" в Лондоне, сообщение о том, что у России есть компромат на Клинтон (ворованная переписка).



На следующий день Трамп толкает речь о внешней политике, присутствуют Кисляк и Сешнс. В тот же день Пападопулос пишет Кори Левандовски, руководителю избирательной кампании Трампа: "Have been receiving a lot of calls over the last month about Putin wanting to host him and the team when the time is right."

27 января 2017 ФБР берет показания у Паподопулоса и ловит его на вранье.

Кого еще незадолго до этого поймали на вранье? Майкла Флинна. Накануне и.о. генпрокурора Салли Йетс объясняет необходимость отставки Флинна тем, что он скомпроментирован русскими. В тот же день Трамп приглашает Коми на ужин и с глазу на глаз требует от него уверения в лояльности.

16 февраля 2017 ФБР берет повторные показания у Пападопулоса. На этот раз тот приводит с собой адвоката.

Накануне, в ответ на публикации CNN и New York Times о контактах между людьми из избирательной кампании Трампа и российскими спецслужбами, Трамп начинает истеричную кампанию отрицания, с обвинениями прессы. Правая пропаганда запускает байку о "deep state".

Q Back in January, the President said that nobody in his campaign had been in touch with the Russians. Now, today, can you still say definitively that nobody on the Trump campaign, not even General Flynn, had any contact with the Russians before the election?
MR. SPICER: My understanding is that what General Flynn has now expressed is that during the transition period -- well, we were very clear that during the transition period, he did speak with the ambassador --

PRIEBUS: The New York Times put out an article with no direct sources that said that the Trump campaign had constant contacts with Russian spies, basically, you know, some treasonous type of accusations. We have now all kinds of people looking into this. I can assure you and I have been approved to say this -- that the top levels of the intelligence community have assured me that that story is not only inaccurate, but it’s grossly overstated and it was wrong. And there’s nothing to it. <...>
WALLACE: So, no collusion whatsoever between anybody involved with Trump and anybody involved with Russia in the 2016 campaign?
PRIEBUS: No.

27 июля 2017 Пападопулос арестован в аэропорту Вашингтона. По всей видимости, он вскоре раскалывается и соглашается на сотрудничество.

Накануне ФБР нагрянуло с обыском к Манафорту, а Трамп разразился атакой на генпрокурора Сешнса за то, что тот не уволил и.о. Директора ФБР Эндрю Маккабе.



На следующий сотрудникам RNC поступило указание сохранить всю корреспонденцию времени избирательной кампании, а бывший руководитель RNC Ринс Прибус был отстранен от работы в Белом доме. Интересно, что Ринс Прибус пытался ссылаться именно на Эндрю Маккабе, когда по поручению Трампа он пытался давить на ФБР, чтобы затоптать сообщения о российских контактах.

“Given the important role that the RNC plays in national elections and the potentially expansive scope of the inquiries and investigations, it is possible that we will be contacted with requests for information,” reads a July 28 memo to staff from the RNC Counsel’s Office.
"Therefore, we must preserve all documents potentially relevant to these matters until they are resolved or until we are informed by all necessary parties that preservation is no longer necessary."
