Письмо ADL в Конгресс с требованием принять меры в отношении Стива Кинга:
We do not take this lightly. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, ADL does not support or oppose candidates for political office. We also recognize that there are any number of issues that ADL and a member of Congress could disagree on. When it comes to Rep. King, we are beyond substantive disagreements. Rep. King has brought dishonor onto the House of Representatives. We strongly urge you to demonstrate your revulsion with Rep. King’s actions by working together to censure him and strip him of his subcommittee ranking membership and otherwise discipline him. By doing so, you will make clear that his actions were deeply offensive, wrong, and that the U.S. House of Representatives will not tolerate anti-Semitism or bigotry in any form. https://www.adl.org/news/letters/letter-to-house-leaders-regarding-rep-steve-king
House will vote as soon as Tuesday on a resolution to disapprove of the actions of Steve King, per Democratic sources. It is being proposed by Rep. James Clyburn. It is not as severe as a censure resolution that other Democrats - like Tim Ryan and Bobby Rush - are proposing. - Manu Raju (@mkraju) January 14, 2019
Trump is very up on the details of Jeff Bezos’ divorce. But when asked about Steve King’s white supremacist comments he says: “I haven’t been following it.” - Abby D. Phillip (@abbydphillip) January 14, 2019
Республиканцы отозвали Кинга из комиссий Конгресса.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., told reporters Monday that the GOP had voted unanimously to remove Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, from all committees amid the rising uproar over his recent comments about white nationalism. "We will not be seating Steve King on any committees in the 116th Congress. It was a unanimous decision..." McCarthy told reporters. "In light of the comments - these are not the first time we have heard these comments. That is not the party of Lincoln, and it is definitely not America. All people are created equal in America, and we want to take a very strong stance about that." https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna958606
