[Saiyuki] Confession
I wrote this about a year or so ago, huh??? I was not as impressed and thrilled with the book as Hakkai was, by the way.
Confession

*Hakkai confesses his sins to Sanzo.
Sanzo had been looking for Hakkai, and when he finally found him, he was clutching a book looking absolutely enraptured. "Hey, Hakkai, can you--"
"Oh Sanzo, you absolutely must read this book, the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. Never before have I read something so truly optimistic and uplifting (well, sure, the first part is all about the horrors of Hell, but...)!" Hakkai truly seemed excited. "It's such a powerful book describing this man's desire to get back to the light of God, and so he journeys through Hell and Purgatory with the poet Virgil. Then his beloved Beatrice guides him through Heaven, frowing more and more beautiful until he finally gets to God Himself and realizes how powerful His love and forgiveness are! Sanzo, it's truly a wonderful book. Read it, I insist. It'll give you so much hope for life!" And with that, Hakkai thrust the book to a very startled-looking Sanzo.
"Er, you really sound...changed by this...?" Sanzo muttered as he flipped through the pages. Then he paused. "Uh...Hakkai?"
"Yes, Sanzo?" Hakkai smiled sweetly.
"...This says it was written in the 1300s..."
Hakkai's smile faltered.
"...Hakkai?"
"...Yes?"
"The 1300s haven't come to pass yet."
Hakkai's smile cracked, and everything came out at once. "I'm sorry, Sanzo, I am so sorry! I - I couldn't help it! I saw it, and I - I had to have it! I stole it from Sherman and Mr. Peabody's Wayback Machine! It was wrong of me, I know, but--!"
Sanzo was understandibly bewildered. "Hakkai, I have no idea what the hell you're talking about. I just wanted you to get me some coffee!"
A few blinks and Hakkai was back to normal. "Oh, was that all? I'm terribly sorry," he said as he refilled Sanzo's cup. "Here." He smiled.
Sanzo eyed him cautiously as he creeped out the room.

Sherman, Peabody, and the Wayback Machine were from the...Rocky and Bullwinkle show was it?
