School's almost over!! Hooray! I still have one more final exam next week, but that won't be so bad. Now I just have to work on getting a practicum site. Easier said than done. I've heard that hospitals only like to take PhD interns. Those snobby bastards.
I feel like going to a movie, but I'm not sure there's anything out right now that is either worth seeing or that I haven't already seen. I'll have to ponder that and re-evaluate how badly I want to go. Perhaps I should go out and grab a beer instead. I haven't had a beer in 3 weeks and it's sounding pretty good right now.
I saw something on the train that really help me put my problems in perspective. This college-age girl started crying hysterically on her cell phone in the middle of a crowded train. By unavoidable eavesdropping, I think I figured out that she was on her way to get an abortion (there is a planned parenthood a couple of blocks from my work). She was so upset because she had to go alone. Her friend bailed on her halfway to her appointment and her boyfriend didn't care enough to help her out. Here I am worrying about papers and exams and this poor girl is going through something difficult all alone. Sorry to be so depressing, I just wanted to share that meaningful moment that I had.
