[dreaming] The birds from your seeking heart.

Jul 21, 2009 10:23

I miss you in incoherent dreams of an unknown land,
longed for and shrouded in smoky mystery, glimmering
with mirror-flashes of hope, glimmers rising from the clatter
of the excitement within your city walls. Strange birds
that coasted in the sultry updrafts of that capitol city,
they migrate far and beyond to meet me where I am,
and they prove you to me with errant cockiness,
with an ugly majestic caw or scree,
In their boldness and fickle attentions,
they tell me that when the time comes,
I must have no fear.

Life is forbidding-short and uncertain.

These raw and honest birds, they know
every mistake I have made, and they dare me
to not make another.

I see people from your native land and wonder
if i should take their hands
and build a kingdom, I live out a rush of a lifetime
in an unhesitating picosecond of lingering eye contact,
and do not know if I have seen the best of it
or only a taste.

I do not know where I will find you.

To my love and lover, wherever you may be,
there is within you a secret greatness,
the imprint of how a feather grows, how a nerve fires
and the body knows how to find and shape the wind,
there is within you a secret and natural greatness,
waiting within you,
that blossoms through love.

As in me.
