Travelogue: The job is on, and so is the move!

Oh, LOOK! Adventure! Excitement! Travel! . . .a chance to say hello to YOU!

I am going to be doing a quick, short contract around the Great Lakes, New England and the D.C. areas. If you have not filled out the Hospitality, Society and Assorted Mischief poll, please do so if you would like me to come and visit you.

Yep, I will be departing Texas for Seattle in a few days, leaning into the wind to drive out and unload in quick fashion, only to leave Seattle without making much of a dent in the major unpack-discard mission ahead of me. I'm trying to remind myself that I'll be back pretty quickly to both Texas and Seattle. And after packing and moving, maybe a little income-generating interlude will be refreshing rather than discovering right off just how many times I bought a suit/lovely sandals for a wedding/proper raincoat/the perfect gift/etc. while I was nowhere near my storage locker, only to stash and dash. Oh, the excesses to cast off that lie ahead of me.

But not right away.

After unloading the moving truck (and I'll need help!), I'll be headed out to Tulsa to teach at a conference, then driving up to Michigan to say hello to some family and start the contract. Sort of like what I just did in July, but simpler (and in cooler weather). I'll be hugging the shores of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario (Detroit and Ann Arbor, Toledo, Cleveland, Buffalo, Syracuse), then looping around Upstate NY through Poughkeepsie back to Ithaca, then over to Massachusetts and Connecticut before heading back through NYC to Baltimore. Then it's back to Texas, possibly by way of Florida. I'm not sure how long I will be in Texas then (Oct or Nov), but it'll be for a spell before I head out to Seattle "for good."
