Something kinda strange, but I'm actually very obsessed with catacombs. We've been going over the early ones from when the christianity first got legalised. It's just so interesting!! I've always had such a huge fascination with crypts, grave sites, catacombs, that kinda thing... so it's great to get so much information on them! Something I'm still not understanding (though, I'm sure we'll go over it soon, we just started on catacombs this week) is why they place the bones in this kinda fashion:
Isn't that crazy? Because the catacombs we've been studying had to do with placing the corpse on a shelf and then digging deeper and deeper so that you'd have shelves about three stories in the air! But... who/why would they go back and design the bones like that? Does anyone know?
By the way, this is all from my history of western art class. I should've mentioned that, heh. I'm just taking it cause I need it for my BA of art or whatever... but I gotta say, thought it's about 'western art', they really don't go over ... art much. I mean, I can tell differences between some statue/bust styles and building styles, too... but... well, I dunno. I'm still in the first few weeks, so I won't judge. Fun class though, awesome teacher. He's super old, wears HUGE goggle glasses and bow-ties! (bow-tie pasta)
But yeah, just wanted to talk about that cause it's just so... interesting!! I wish there was a class just on burials and stuff... does that sound weird? Yeah, that sounds weird. Uhm. But yes.
I waited til the last moment to do my anthropolgy homework and now I can't find my paper on what I'm supposed to wright. Ugh! >_<
But in other news, I'm applying/interviewing? at Costal Express tomorrow! Cause my current job is dumb and only giving me 18 hours a week ... when I acutally need a good double that. I hope Costal Express works out, cause I don't want to go through the process of applying all over town and waiting. That's no fun at all. Plus, my friend Robert works there, so it'd be less... me being akward and shy.
Blech.
