CHARACTER
Name: Feferi Peixes
Canon: Homestuck
Timeline: After talking with Jade the first time using the Dark Lords' dream bubbles.
First Person:
Oh! Is that how this thing works? Yes!!
[ With that congratulatory note, the feed switches on to a very bright, very cheery, very gray face. Everyone, please meet Feferi Peixes, and man, she is pumped. She holds her watch high above her head with both hands, staring up at the device with blind, optimistic confidence.
Or is it conchfidence?
We'll have time for the bad nautically-themed puns later. For now, Feferi takes a moment to adjust her tyrian goggles with one hand, while excitedly gesticulating with the other, sending the video feed bouncing absolutely everywhere. As the feed moves around, there's short glimpses of dark stone and red liquid - she appears to have perched herself on the bridge that runs over the Fiume Sanguinante. ]
Hee hee hee, this thing is great!! Kind of absurd looking, but I can't go blubbering on about how it looks when it's the only thing I have, huh? I wish I knew how these things worked better, I've never really had the gills for technology! Kind of limited under water and--
Oh my glub!! Listen to me, bubbling off like a newly-hatched guppy. HEY! Let me stop being stupid for a moment, okay?? [ Feferi giggles again, finally putting both hands on her watch, the feed steadying. ] God, it's like I don't even have the bassic courtesea to introduce myself. I'm Feferi, by the way! Abdicated Alternian empress-to-be! Hello!!
Glub glub glub! [ Did she just say "glub" out loud? Yes, she did. ]
Okay, okay! I won't take up too much more of your time. Sheesh, haha. I just have two questions for everyone.
NUMBER ONE! Has anyone seen my fronds glubbing around here? They're hard to miss, we're all working the whole... gray skin, black hair, orange horns ensemble. Last I saw them was before I got shipped flipper over fin in your multiple-wheeled boxcar transport device, and we were just having a whale of a time! All sorts of stupid trouble; just one thing rocketing after another in a multicolored pinwheel that did nothing but generate drama. Pchooooo! [ Giggle. ] I just wanted to make shore they're alright, that's all! It's just one of those things. You know! Kinda like, one moment, everyone's worried they're going to be fishfood, then the next, you're glubbing with the dark lords in your dreams, and when you wake up, you're in a different place entirely!
Haha, don't you hate it when that happens?? ANYWAY!
NUMBER TWO! Um. [ Feferi looks down at the river. For the first time since she started babbling, she looks a little disappointed. ]
Is there a place to swim here that doesn't smell like metal?
Third Person:
((PLEASE NOTE: Recycled third-person sample is recycled! It's also from an application where Feferi was taken from a later point in canon, the main difference between then and now being that she isn't being taken fresh from getting her royal herpaderp self murdered.))
Whale, this wasn't exactly what Feferi had imagined the afterlife would be like! It wasn't what she was expecting anything to be like, really. Unless this was some sort of last-minute death hallucination glubbed up by the dark gods to soften the shock of being straight-up murdered by a close friend, but she doubted it. For a hallucination, this one was pretty crappie, a reel fishy situation that didn't have any of the usual bright rainbows. Glub glub SIGH. Despite her regal background, Feferi had never actually experienced anything that would prepare her to lead her race, the cryptic whispers of the underwater eldrich abomination she called her custodian notwithstanding. She never met with foreign dignitaries, nor discussed political theory during her rearing (though this probably had more to do with most of her race could care less about other species past if they had an inhabitable planet than anything,) and that meant no experience with bureaucracy.
But HEY!! That wasn't any excuse not to learn the new customs. Not that Feferi had much choice if she wanted to continue on, mind you, but that wasn't going to stop her, today or any day! The princess excitedly dived into her paperwork, carefully dashing her ----E's and parenthesizing her )('s, while she cheerfully glubbed away, having a whale of a time as she talked about herself in strange, legal terms. Being culturally diverse sure was interesting! Still, while she had no need to be koi about her answers, Feferi couldn't help but let her mind float slightly - when she had listened to GL'BGOYLB's last whispers and predictions, the princess had only been promised that -EV-ERTYT)(ING WOULD B--E JUST FIN-----E! She had never been told how, but hey, the dark gods work in mysterious ways! It doesn't matter if you know how things turn out, after all; the journey will always be an exciting adventure worth looking forward to!! Feferi smiled at this, and packed on the dashes, sending another poor E flying.
Thinking logically, if this was where she was supposed to end up, then the rest of her friends wouldn't be long behind, would they? Seeing everyone together, in a safe place was such an exciting promise!! Krabcatch's obscene gestures, Sollux's adorable grouchiness, Gamzee's calm kindness, Eridan's--
Feferi froze, her bubbly demeanor suddenly interrupted by an unpleasant feeling of betrayal and disappointment. She pushed down the emotions, and tried hard to smile. Everything happened for a reason, even if she didn't understand the immediate purpose, and this was no different. If-- no, not if, when she found the violet troll again, she would have to face down her murderer and friend. That could wait until then. No matter what, things were going to be just fine for all of them. Feferi was sure of it. Reassured by sheer optimistic faith, the aquatic princess's smile became sincere again, letting the hurt and anger temporarily wash off her back as she happily let out a few excited glubs as she finished her paperwork, got in line, and turned in her hard, enthusiastic work.
The Volgon in charge looked at the mess Feferi had made of her paperwork, frowned, and immediately sent her back for revisions.
