My Mother’s Trinkets
My aunt brought boxes of my mother’s belongings for my brother and I when she visited. I sent most on to my brother to look through and enjoy before I take anything he doesn’t want, but I pulled some of the tinier things and duplicates so I can make a shadow box.
Buttons, girl scout pins, little dolls, handkerchiefs… It’s all so dear to me after losing her at a young age.
Has anyone made a shadow box before? I am thinking of doing one with compartments, but I could also do several small squares collage-style.

- In Case of Vintage Emergency, Break Glass (Circle 7-2099) I like the idea of using a broach to pin the hankie.
- Heirloom Jewelry in a Refinished Shadow Box (The Old House in Texas) I may just do some simple frames with dark velvet backing.
