you see, all through my life I have noted that if you have a very public childish strop you find what you were looking for, just so fate can leave you feeling stupid. I've posted all over the internet, and now I've worked it out myself. there was a sneaky extra page hiding which can be removed with a complicated procedure of replacing seciton breaks with page breaks, deleting bits, uninserting numbers, reinserting them, running backwards round the house threee times whilst shouting 'all hail bill gates'.
