Homecoming!
Excellent. We're now about 100 miles from Hawaii--so we could pull in tomorrow, but we're hanging back a couple of days while the Marines do their thing. *sigh* Still, there's an LCAC (that's the big hovercraft) ride tomorrow, and a beach party on Sunday, so we won't be too bored. Lots of photos have been taken so far, and I expect to get a few more before the trip is over. At least I'll have part of a day in Hawaii; all I really want to see is the Arizona anyway. Facebook photos are going to get loaded within a couple of days, assuming my machine behaves itself--I think it needs a reformat (Kai, any chance of help?).
Leaving Monday night at 2130 from Honolulu, should be getting into BWI around 1500 Tuesday afternoon. We have one connection, and that's in Newark. Yes, New Jersey. Non-stop from Hawaii to New Jersey: 9.5 hours in the air, plus six hours of forward time-jump. Yay. Then an hour stop, and an hour's flight down to BWI. Guess who's going to be feeling the lag? Many awesomeness points to Andy for saying he can come get me, since the parents are otherwise occupied that day.
