For those of you who don't know (since I haven't been posting lately), I am gainfully employed at
Research House as an interviewer. (I conduct surveys over the phone). The work is pretty enjoyable usually, and downright interesting at times since over the course of one evening we conduct surveys from coast to coast. (I work evenings, usually 5-12)
At any time our calls can be monitored (and graded) which is a slight bit disconcerting at first, but really not that bad. The grades from the monitoring, plus the quantity of completed surveys (compared to the expected number per hour), determineshow well we're doing our job.
Okay, all of this background info brings me to the point of this post.
Tonight wa my mid-probation meeting with the big boss, Thor. (Yes, Thor) Of the five times I've been monitored so far: four of them were high Bs, the other (and first one) was a C, so I knew my quality was fairly good, and I was pretty sure that my quantity was doing well too.
It turns out that, as Thor went over on my review sheet, I had an overal score of 38/40, which made me quite happy. On top of this, I had two more calls monitored tonight; one of them had a minor problem, the other was perfect! (and the supervisor complimented me on my voice and manner)
So, it may not be the job I've always wanted (I don't actually know what that is), but it's nice to know that I do it well.
