I can't believe how big Avery is getting. He is developing quite a personality. He is usually all smiles and likes to be held by different people. He laughs and babbles to his toys all day. He has started grunting when he can't figure something out or when he doesn't like something. I just get a kick out of him.
I took him to another doctor on Thursday to get a second opinion on his weight issue and I am really glad I did. The new doctor is very nice, does not have a heavy patient load as he is new to this practice. He has read Dr. Sears and is familiar with the alternative vaccine schedule and being good friends with Avery's doctor when he was in the hospital, this new doctor had already been caught up on the situation. He was not concerned with Avery's motor skills or milestones but he is concerned because even with the rapid weight gain these past 2.5 weeks Avery is still in the 3rd percentile. He was 10.10 as of Thursday, 23.5 inches long, and 40 cm head circumference. Avery is behind in length and weight so he ordered some metabolic blood tests. He said it may just be genetics but why not find out if it is something more. This is the kind of thing we should have been doing from the start. I am hoping it is just genetics but if it is not then we need to start treating him so it will not affect further development. Poor Avery got vaccinated and had blood drawn this week. He was so good and barely let him slow him down.
Here is some video of time with Daddy and his first bites. Also some adorable photos.
Happy 4th everyone!
