late late show, a brief summary
i must say that this is the most i have posted in a short period of time. but now, on to bigger and better things. i was scrolling through the late night talk shows to see if there were any interesting guests on tonight. seeing as that it was already 12:15am the good shows were getting ready to go off. i decide on a whim to check out the late late show because i thought that craig kilborn was still doing. to my dismay he was not, but alas, my favorite irish singer-songwriter (damien rice) was appearing as the musical guest. i patiently wait the 20 minutes for the show to come on by taking a timewarp back to the days of 'whos the boss?'. man, that is a good show. *sidebar: i still want a shirt with tony danza on it.* so its finally time for the show to come on and i was initially disappointed. whoever the host for the late late show is quite possibly the least funny man ive ever seen. his timing was off, he started many jokes/stories/sentences with 'uhh',he was not any good, and during this segment to not grant peoples christmas wishes he just ended up sounding insulting. i was not a fan. i like to think that im a funny girl and though im not exactly a comedienne,im pretty sure this guy sucked ass. the show did however redeem itself every time it cut to commercial and when i found out its other two guests were <3topher grace<3 and maya rudolph (the chick that reminds me of elmore) from snl. all in all it turned out to be a good show.
it seems like this is the millionth entry ive written about how much i love mr. rice, but i seriously cant get enough of him. i dont know what it is either. theres just something in his voice. he can surface so many different emotions in his music and that is something that i think isnt done enough. its a truly beautiful thing. the woman that sings along side of him, lisa hannigan, has one of the most unique voices. its very pure and rough. i wish she did some solo work. ok, im done. i know nothing about music except for what i like and what i dont. what i would like is for someone to buy me the b sides cd from damien rice. i would even be as kind as to burn a copy for the purchaser :)
home is getting boring but i dont want to do anything. im sick of the driving already.
