* march.

It's already March. Nuts. In the last week we've had a few days that look like Spring (still a little cold though), slowly Spring is approaching. Can't wait.

I went to the best festival Sunday. Omizu Okuri in Obama, Fukui (yes, the city that loves that it shares a name with Barak Obama --> click). Basically, some priests dressed up in these costumes that looked like a cross between a ninja and a kkk clansman and started a huge bonfire. The majority of the people who came (myself included) paid 1000 yen to get a huge stick to write their name and wishes on and we carried the fire from the bonfire on this mountain down to near the river. It was great. I love that in Japan I get to see all these things I'd never see back home because they have lawsuit written all over them. Instead in Japan, everyone just says "abunai" ("dangerous") over and over again while laughing. Aw, Japan, I love you.

In other news, my 3nensei (9th graders) graduate next week (the 13th) which is just insanity. Even better, that same day Ian comes to Japan! OMG! <3 I'm so happy. I feel like once he's here things will be easier for me, even when he's like 150km away in Kyoto.

March should be great:
13 - Ian gets here
15 - Penis festival near Nagoya
21-23 - Osaka for Sumo tournament
24 - last day of work before spring break
some time in the week that follows - hiroshima
31 - back to fukui for a farewell ceremony/party for teachers changing schools

Should be a busy good month, especially with just over two weeks with Ian. Before I know it, it'll be over...I have a feeling that the rest of my time in Japan is going to fly. Part of me is sad but a big part of me is ready to go home. But, the stress, agh.
