had a great day out in L.A. with
pinballorama today - we hit a bunch of stres that we've been wanting to visit, and I managed to pick up a few more nick-naks for the decorating process. I got a couple of small candle holders, and another pretty magic lantern like I got the last time we were out there. This time in purple, rather than pink. I also got some special facial scrub I've wanted to take care of these weird dead skin dry spots that happen on my face during the winters here. I also picked up
this very frivolous and yet somehow simultaneously useful purchase. I picked up a bunch of CDs at Amoeba too - the new Broadcast, the new Castanets, an album by Clientele, and another by Mystic Chords of Memory. All in all, it was quite a successful day, if a bit spendthrifty. We had a lovely and relaxing dinner at Paru's, a vegetarian Indian restaurant with a cute little courtyard (although it was too cold to sit outside today). I had a yummy curry dish with potatoes and cauliflower, plus a mixture of spinach and chic(k?) peas, and some nan. Tasty, especially when we hadn't had much to eat all day.
Later in the night, as we were getting ready to head home, my allergies started to clog my head up something fierce. My ears were hurting from the pressure, and I got lightheaded and generally icky. It was like that most of the drive home, to the point where it started to scare me a bit, because it felt like I was only going to get dizzier. When we got back to my place, though, some strong allergy meds and a warm bath helped stop the whirling of the world. Now we're on the couch, and I'm trying to catch Ryan up on Season One of Lost, so he can start watching Season Two with us.
All I can say is, now that I have crazy ephedrine coarsing through my veins, I'm glad tomorrow's a holiday. Because sleep isn't coming anytime soon.
