Resolutions for 2008

One of the things I am going to try next year is to see a lot of my friends. I mean, I know they come down to see me, but next year, I will make plans to see my friends where they live. Many of them are scattered about, with a majority in Maryland for some reason. Sadly, I have so many friends that with 52 weekends in a year, 17 of them on call ( Read more... )

yeah... ok, well there IS THAT!

Oh, but you forgot about the one where you're in a hotel that has a stairway that is not seperated by turns but rather straight up and down the side of the hotel... steep enough that when you release a BIIIIGGGG box of superballs at the top of the steps... they become very Bullet-like by the time they reach the bottom.

Sorry, that was awesome. IIRC, they became bullet-like a few floors down from the release point until they started to shatter.

So I heard.

Stairboarding was cool, no matter how many Prunes lost limbs

The fire extinguisher...ah I remember that one. Pentagon City, 1992. I remember I was in the hallway, trying to talk down a friend who'd been "dosed," telling her, "No it's all ok. Just think of something pleasant." A mist had been creeping into the hall before the door got knocked in, but this was in the days when you could smoke indoors, so I assumed that's what it was.

Suddenly, security ran into a nearby room and the extinguisher dust entered the hall like a scene out of The Fog.

I believe it was Antoine that ended up in the hospital (though it's been so long I've probably remembered it wrong) because the extinguisher set off a respiratory problem he had.

I thought that was Tad who got sent to the hospital for respiratory issues, but I may also be wrong since I heard it 3rd hand like 15 years ago.

I miss the FanTek cons, too. They gave me some notion that time was passing. Since the last one, life has pretty much been a large blur, with few outstanding incidents to say "oh, yes, another year has gone by" that weren't interchangeable with stuff that happened when I was six.
