Thanksgiving

We had a calm Thanksgiving this year. Normally, we have people over who don't have anywhere to go, or Thanksgiving with their folks is a traumatic affair and we provide refuge. But this year, we decided to only have immediate family due to CR's health and the stress of several other things.

It was very nice to sit down together and have a meal. As a family, we hadn't done that for a while unless other people were coming. We had a small turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and baked beans. Instead of cranberry this year, we had Swedish lingon berries and cloud berries, and while they are hard to find, I *strongly* suggest you try this instead of cranberries because they are higher in vitamin C, and aren't as tart as cranberries.

Normally, every Black Friday, my son and I go out and hang out at the mall to see the craziness. It's been a tradition since I left retail for the last time in 1996, partly as a reminder of why I left retail, but also a chance to hang out with CR. But he's still very sick, so we ended up going to see "Hitman," instead... and .. well, you see how that went. :) Hey, at least we both had a good time laughing at the film!
