Still alive and finally sort of painless again!! Trying to write a bit about the last weekend and following days of horror...
Essen is a cool city but the it seemed like everyone wanted to go to Essen on Friday and the streets were full so we got stuck in a traffic jam twice. The streets slowly lead to one big street and it was simply horrible. Some Weird Al songs and a few David jokes later we finally made it to our fab hotel!
I rarely go to sleep in hotels so I was sort of blown away. It was sort of posh, heh. After I managed to open the door with the very weird card I just changed and went to meet my friend Brigitte downstairs. Her hubbie David preferred a good book over Velvet Revolver. And a few nice beers, heeh.
I was sporting my very glamorous Morrissey shirt (a Mrs S. Weiland shirt wouldnt have been too nice) and we were surprised to see that there were that many people infront of the Grugahalle. Mostly guys - either old GNR fans or wanna bes - truly funny. We got some curious looks from guys - it was hilarious.
The IQ of several fans was truly decreased by some cups of beer - which lead us to some naughty jokes "Braincells anyone?" which they didnt really get.
The Velvet divas kept us waiting for 1,5 hours which didnt make things better. I was suffering from awful toothache and had to take 2 pills already. I was really mad esp. cos everyone else seemed to be used to that. Another guy said to me, "The Rolling Stones took 4 hours to get onstage". Mr. Weiland beware of the angry Moz fan, my dear!
At 9:30 pm they finally moved their rock'n' roll asses out on stage and it was truly worth the wait!
I LOVED IT! Until some retarded guy accidentially hit me with his elbow (just to reach for Mr. Weiland, damn you Scotty) right on the cheek where my sick tooth was. I had to leave the 3rd row cos I was so in pain. After a while I got better and watched the show from the side. Hearing Fall to pieces made up for everything again and I pretty much enjoyed it.
After the show, Brigitte and I were running around trying to find each other and then we were sharing some nice ice cold water. I was still feeling pretty bad so we didnt wait for the band but headed to meet David instead and we decided to go to a cocktail bar called "Casablanca" a very nice and cosy one.
I went to bed at 3.30 am that day cos I couldnt sleep.
The next day we went to the Food Fair - it was so yummy! You could try any food from very posh restaurants for 5 Euros! Then we headed to the Grugapark to take millions of pics...photographers paradise! They even had a petting zoo and a pool :-)! I never laughed so much ;)
Later we went to a Mexican restaurant and after that we went to the biggest cinema in Germany and saw Batman begins. I HATE Batman movies usually...but this one was great and Christian Bale is just wonderful. We sat on the balcony and it felt like sitting in a theatre.
After that we were off to Casablanca's again...sigh! How I wish I could go back now!
After I returned home on Sunday I was pained by more toothache again and my dad took me to emergency at 7 pm. The doc just gave me new medication and I couldnt sleep that night. On Monday I went to my own doc and he decided to pull the tooth (after 4 weeks of me having pain) and on Monday night I hardly slept either. I think I have never been in so much pain. I went to work on Tuesday but went home at 9 am again cos I didnt feel well.
I am ok now but I still cant eat properly. I cant wait to pick up the VR pics :-).
And I will try to SLEEP a lot this weekend!
