I love the winter olympics! The games are so much better than the summer games. How can you compete against someone voluntarily hurling themselves through an ice tunnel at speeds in excess of 90 mph? Skiing, luge, snowboarding, hockey, , speed skating, curling...especially curling...you just can't beat it. I love to see the Americans on top right now. At last count they have four golds (men's 5000 m speed skating, men's 500 m speed skating, women's half pipe snowboard, and men's half pipe snowboard) and two silvers (men and women's half pipe snowboard). Tony Benshoof was so close to finally getting an American medal in men's single luge (he came in fourth). 0.05 seconds and he would have had it. Oh well, that's life. Women's hockey has been very interesting. Apparently, 90% of all the women hockey players are from the US or Canada, they just go to play abroad. So...Canada and the US are kicking ass! They both had shut outs with more than ten goals scored. Sad to hear Michelle Kwan dropping out of the games. All those years and never a gold. Anyway, it should be interesting to see how things turn out.
