Entry #762- I've been waiting for something, I've been sitting for too long

The concert last night was amazing. :)

The run down:

Discover America- was really boring. Like even if I did pot, I still probably wouldn't be entertained with this band. And I'm sure that I second hand smoked some mary jane last night... and it didn't help them at all. They may or may not have been good, I just wasn't into it at all. I think that I strained myself to listen to their lyrics a couple of times and they were pretty good. Nothing overly fantastic, but still decent. Oh, and the drummer looked like his was being tortured the whole time, what with the awful faces he was making. It was really frightening, and we decided that Drew should be a drummer because two of the drummers we saw last night definitely could use a straight jacket.

Mute Math- was a lot of fun. The lead singer/keyboardist was insane. But so was the drummer. The drummer duct taped (we think it was duct tape) headphones onto his head... and it was funny because he sort of reminded us of a whole lot of people, including (but not limited to) Doak, Matt Marsh, and Drew. It was good times. But they were lightyears better than Discover America, the crowd got really into it, and it was really good. The keyboardist was jumping everywhere, between the four keyboards they had and a keytar (it was one of those moments when I Love the 80's came in handy). I really liked them and meant to get a copy of their CD, and now I feel bad because I didn't. But...meh.

Circa Survive- took forever to set up. I was ready for them to be done before they even started, which was sad. They weren't overly impressive. They definitely could've been, but they were completely not my style of music... They were more hardcore screamo than I care for. The lead singer looked like he was being electrocuted the whole time, what with the way he crashed across the stage with his upper body constantly tensing up and convulsing... It was bizarre. In retrospect, it kind of reminds me of The Exorcism of Emily Rose, which is icky. But they were good for their style of music, and I suppose that is what really counts. Not to mention the fact that I was so pissed off at the girl standing in front of Allison for being so negative that I instantly thought the band was better. I mean really, who wears poofy pink vests, white turtle neckes, and carries a handbag to a rock show? *rolls eyes*

Mae- was really great. I'm hooked. I never really listened to their music before, mostly because I got it in the middle of the Fall Out Boy/Panic! At The Disco fandoms... and so I was too absorbed in that scene to sit and listen to Mae much. But holy cow. They were really great. They played a really long set and also did two encore songs, which was really cool. They stopped the show at one point toward the end to get this drunk guy escorted out of the building, because he was being such a prick, and I really liked the way they handled it. And I love how they never once mentioned their religious or political views, it made me respect them that much more. They were overall amazing and yeah. I bought a t-shirt and some buttons and I'm all psyched about it.

Thank you soooo much, Allison! :) I had a blast. Even if my feet did start complaining after a while, but it was really fantastic.

I really can't wait for the Nintendo Fusion Tour now. :D
