I have good news and bad news.
Good news: Party America went well. I got there and Steve was on the phone, so I had to hang out for a while, but it was at least good to hear that there was a reason why he was tardy, rather then whats-her-face at Cold Stone who, as it ended up, was looking futilly for my application. So one of the girls working there (I don't remember her name, that's horrible) sat and talked with me for a while, asked some questions and such. She seemed really nice, so that was happy for me, at least my potentially future fellow-workers aren't totally bitchy (well, the two that I met aren't). After a short time, Steve came out from the back room and we started the interview. Overall, it was a much better experience than the Cold Stone one (but does it really get much worse than that? I really hope not, or else I might walk out in the middle of it)... he seemed to truly understand the inner workings of a high school newspaper and actually understood the horrors of selling ads (it's almost the same as retail, only more pushy). He had me inflate a balloon, which wasn't nearly as hard as I was thinking it might be (he kept reiterating the fact that people don't always have much luck with it)... but I passed the test with a "Perfect" and some more encouraging words (even after it took me quite a while to tie the goddamned thing). He really seemed to like me, he took me straight over to one of the computers and had me do basically a little mini-training session on Excel, which went really well, he seemed happy that I know the basics of control-C and control-V, even if I absolutely loathe touch pad mouses.
In a nutshell: It went really well, and even with my cynical attitude the whole day, I don't think it would be that bad. The girl who greeted me has been working there for two years, so that must be a good omen, right??
Bad news: Bye-bye social life. They like that I can work weekends (they appreciate that my over-full schedule only provides me with the opportunity to work weekends!!), so don't expect to see me for a while, kiddos. :) And plans will have to be made, which is a stark contrast to how things used to be with me. Oh yeah.
Fantastic news: If I get this job, my mom won't be nagging me about finding a job anymore. Which is great news, and would allow me to still possibly check out Circuit City, which I hear pays better. This fantastic news is two fold, because she won't nag me about finding a job and she'll have minimal chances other times to nag me, so I may just become less irritable.
Yeah.
My day up to this point was pretty normal, so I won't bore you with the details... that and I don't have the time, really.
