Sunday December 25 : 5:03 p.m. At Home
At the Miyadai house Christmas was not a normal holiday; his father did not work but did not head out to the bars. He sat with in his chair in front of the television drinking his store bought alcohol till he passed out. Yosuke’s grand mom from his mother’s side would visit brining lots of homemade treats for Yosuke, she thought her grandson was special in a sense and often hinted at him being mentally disabled. For the treats Yosuke did not acknowledge her comments. Sure he wasn’t bright but he was far from special. The day would progress with his father sleeping and his mother arguing with her mom, his grand mom did not approve of her daughter’s lifestyle feeling she needed to grow up and act her age. Yosuke ignored them as he opened his gift, it was a sweater two sizes too small but it was the thought that counted right. Afterwards when he was alone in his room with his mother and grand mom arguing again he was excited for the best part.
Cupcake the feral cat that hated him, the very one Kazuo swapped his lovely fluff ball of a kitten with, was sleeping on his bed. The orange tabby cat had be over 24lbs now considering all it did was eat but it sat there ears back and a slight growl emitting from his lips. “Time for your present Cupcake.” He said excitedly as he laid out a small can of tuna. Smelling the food Cupcake jumped off the bed and made it to the can a low purr was created as she ate. Once the tuna was gone Cupcake curled on Yosuke’s lap to sleep and allowed him to pet her. Cupcake was beginning to come around Yosuke just had to make sure he had plenty of food for her. There still were two presents he had to give and they sat on his dresser, one for his boss-san and boss-san’s brother. He just had to find a good day to deliver them and boss-san made it very clear he did not want to be disturbed over the holidays.
