Realizations upon Tony Nights

I am watching the Tony's and I have to say that I love actors. I love the enthusiasm and joy with which people of the stage immerse themselves in and revel at accomplishment. It makes me miss the stage...I realize at this moment that I can never leave the stage for good as I had once assumed possible. I may love literature, I may love English, but theatre was my first passion and will remain dear to my heart. There will never be a moment where the Phantom of the Opera’s first chords don’t send chills up my spine and brings tears to my eyes. I may be a writer, but people of the stage will always be my people. We are a group that never breaks far from each other, regardless of location. I love the feeling I get when I see a good show, the thrill I feel after an amazing musical number. Better yet, the deep swell of emotion after performing in a show or musical. Nothing else can give me that feeling. Performance comes in many forms...but for me theatre will always be the first and last.

Not to mention, anything that involves Alan Cumming in tight black pants and Michael Cevaris as a butcher of man deserves to be close to my heart. I love theatre.

Oh and pshaa to Julia Roberts, at least she hit one nail on the head. The best actors are stage actors. Movie actors will never match up, they can have a million surgeries, you can’t add talent.

“A republican puppet, that rings a bell.”
