Wow, so yeah. A week ago me, Dave, Matt, Nicole, and our neighbors Brittani and Thomas all went to a couple of haunted houses. Then me, Dave, Matt and Nicole all went to another one last night. So here's how I rated them:
1-The Haunted Forest: More like The Haunted Crap. I was so disappointed in this one. It was like a bunch of little kids threw it together. They had a low piece of wood on the ceiling of one of the many "tunnels" and Tom walked right into it, knocking him over. Then he fell over again because they filled in a hole in the path with a bunch of loose hay. The dirt path was being kicked up by all of the customers and everyone was coughing. There were wet spots in the path and I got a wet shoe because there was an ankle-deep puddle that you couldn't get around. Everyone was wearing masks. This haunted house was trying too hard for the "boo-scare" and not "real-scare" as I like to put it.

2-Rocky Point Haunted House: This one is always a good one to go to because of the awesome setting they have. While you are waiting in line, you are in a fog-filled graveyard with a handful of roaming zombies. And if you get there before 10pm, you get to see about 10 zombie girls dance to Michael Jackson's "Thriller." This place has the classic monsters: Dracula, Werewolf, Creature of the Black Lagoon, Mummy and Frankenstein's monster. Then they have all of the famous slashers: Freddy, Jason, Scream, Leatherface and Michael Myers. These setups always look just like the movies. This year they added on to the Lord Of The Rings section and had Gollum, more Orcs and the Dead Marshes. Blew me away. Totally awesome. We also went into the Mirror Maze add-on which was good entertainment, but not scary like I thought it was going to be. I go to this haunted house every year for a reason. :)

3-Nightmare On 13th:....Um. Yeah. I didn't know that haunted houses got this scary. This is the ONLY haunted house I have EVER been to that actually SCARED me. Sure, the other ones have people in masks who pop out and say "boo" and you jump, but that's being startled. Not scared. While waiting in line, they have these awesome animatronics of Beetlejuice and the Tales From The Crypt Cryptkeeper putting on an awesome show. I highly recommend hanging around for the entire show. Once inside...*shudders* They just have things that nobody else has. Like the Banks Motel from Psycho, Pirates Of The Carribean...I don't remember what else but it was scary. They have a bloody sheet maze that we got lost in for about 15 minutes. I think that's what got me scared. Being lost, starting to panic, wondering if you will ever get out. Then when we finally found the way out of the maze we were all by ourselves for the rest of it. No one in front of us or in back. *shivers* Then they have an add-on at the end that is optional for $2 bucks more. It's called EXTREME: Your Worst Nightmare. And that's basically what it is folks. Like a really bad, confusing, freaky ass nightmare come true. I'm going back to that one next weekend. :D

4-Nightmare Mansion: When we pulled into the parking lot for this one I thought it was going to be a little lame. But that just proves the whole "don't judge a book by it's cover" theory. This one actually had a pretty good creepy/scary element to it as well; there were walls, but no roof. In some parts there were, but for the most part you were running across bridges and sheet mazes under the light of the full moon. That pale blue light made me feel like I was in a horror flick. These guys didn't go all out and spend a-ba-zillion dollars on special effects like others but they did it right. Low-budget but still scary. They had a Scarrasic Park, Area 51 and the new thing that every haunted house has: a 3D Psycho Clown Maze. It's been done by everyone, (I first seen it at Rocky Point a couple years ago) but it's still very entertaining at all of them. Great artwork. The only thing that sucked with this one is that it was FUCKING cold outside and my nose wouldn't quit running. Oh, and that me and Nicole had our arms linked while some creature was chasing us and we both tried to run through a doorway at the same time, at top speed. My shoulder didn't fit. I can't move my right arm. :( But I'm going to this one again next year. Possibly again before the season is over because it's the closest one to my house. :D

In other news, I bought another bird last night. She is the coolest little birdy ever. She's only 8 weeks old and she's a Green Cheek Conure. Look it up. They're so cute. Doesn't bite at all, loves her neck scratched and her back pet and she's already starting to follow me around. I have a new little buddy! I named her Siouxsie after Siouxsie and The Banshees. Ah, what a little sweetheart. I can't wait 'till I get off work so I can play with her again. :)
But that is all for now folks.
Oh, and if you're reading this: (you know who you are) Yes, my life IS much happier now that you're gone. Loser.
