Library!

Aug 03, 2008 22:48

We finally got the library at least unpacked. We still need to sort the books from the various bookshelves all over the house and see how many more we can fit into the library. We also got a futon couch/sleeper from Target for using the library as extra sleeping space.

We had a lovely party for ghostballet and kiyowara's 20th wedding anniversary last night. We're on the party platform of having a party or celebration for all the various anniversaries we have as a family - the more the merrier. Lots of wonderful people came and hung out and chatted. We managed to have most of the food be wheat-free/dairy-free - this whole food allergy crap is really a pain in the butt. Between that and the sugar issues, grump. However, I did stay sugar-free even though someone lovingly brought dairy and wheat free brownies which I must say were ever so tempting.

Knitting news: I'm knitting the eyelet cardi -which I ripped out after kiyowara finished hers because the sizing is typical Chic Knits and runs big. I'm casting on the size smaller. I finished the socks for Twisted Stitches with CuteKnitter's help. She was gracious enough to finish the toes for me. They are beautiful and as soon as I can get Tony to download the pics I'll post them on Ravelry. I'm also knitting a vest in Jitterbug, one of our friends came to the party without knitting and since I was on a large field of stockinette, I gave it to her and she got it to the armhole shaping :) Thanks Shannah! I'm almost finished with the model of the chunky shrug in Cascade Lana Grande. It's going really fast. I still have the Cedar Creeks working, I pulled out the heel and I'm going to do my standard slip stitch heel instead of the one in the pattern. Once I finish the sock, I may have to find a different pattern for the rest of the yarn so I don't have a matched pair of socks. It's become a matter of pride!

I'm looking forward to tomorrow - I have the day off and my friend is coming from Georgia to visit do some research on poly families. Should be interesting. Tuesday we are having a day at the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz. YAY for mini vacation days!

Now I'm off to see if my beloveds want to watch a movie.
