Something sort of interesting but not really too unusual happened today. My theory about 90% of people my age and younger not having a desire to work or actually be reliable workers was proven today. The new girl that was hired to take my place at the auto shop basically wasted a bunch of our time letting us train her as she pretended to be genuinely interested in the job, and then told me after only a week of employment that she was giving her two weeks notice and going to work for some tanning salon. I understand that they will offer her more hours, which is impossible for the shop to do, but I don't believe you should take a job when you aren't even sure if you are going to keep it. She basically wasted a week of time that we could have been looking for someone else who was going to stay and do the work that I did. I was starting to feel a lot better leaving my job because I felt like this girl would be capable of taking care of the customers I have learned to actually care a lot about. Over the course of 5 years working there, I have really gotten to know people very well to the point that I will think about them after I leave. There will even be some that I miss seeing now and then.
Anyways, tomorrow is the day that Sylvan goes back to normal so I actually have to tutor. The holidays really screwed with the schedule, but not necessarily in a bad way. The only crappy thing is that along with the crappy hourly wage they pay the teachers who make their program, they don't pay holidays. I think that really stinks. So yea, I worked four hours there this week already, tomorrow I work another two, on Saturday I am working three, and on Sunday I am working 4. That means altogether I have worked or will work 26 hours....and now that I think about it, it is not that much...haha. I worked that at the auto shop last week alone! Haha. I guess it is more than I normally work I guess. Next week I won't even be at Sylvan on Thursday and Friday because I will be running the auto shop those days, plus on Monday. I will be there from 7am until 5pm...those are 10 hour days! Holy crap! I will work 30 hours in a total of three days! I guess I will make the extra money I wanted before I leave there, plus my final paycheck.
Talking about saving...I haven't really had this amount of money in a while. I guess I got lucky and I have also been more meager about my spending. I am not really worried anymore about being broke during my time in the credentials program. I am actually very optimistic since I still live at home and everything. Hopefully the money I have will last me until the summer and hopefully I will even have some left. I basically only have one main bill through the bank for a small loan and the other stuff will be taken care of by my mom during that time.
Anyways, tomorrow I have a doctor's appointment at 9:50 and maybe I will meet Gerry for lunch if he doesn't work overtime. Since it is 10:35 already there is probably a good chance that he is going to. Well, everyone...have a great Friday and good weekend. Oh yea, and I finally get to go to Medieval Times on Saturday! I have never been there!
