Guess you had to be there

If spending the last seven months in the bacteria-clogged pore of the universe has taught me anything, it's the importance of the in-joke. Come to such a cheerless place as this from the relative paradise that has now filled your mind with gumdrop-colored false memories, and it becomes imperative that you're well-armed as many obscure refrences as your arsenal will hold. Having been essentially cut-off from my friends since I moved, there haven't been many chances to have in-joked experiences. Of course, the only real joy of these comes from alienating everyone else who's "out" of it.

I think one reason I've become so enraptured with TDS/TCR is because of the EXTENSIVE amount of in-joke fodder. Just walk into a market and you collapse with giggles (orange juice! bananas! coffee! pancake-sausage popsicle!), which is a good thing, because going to the market is about the extent of "fun" you can have within a 15 mile radius (not including the bar settled quite nicely beside the school's driveway . . . i love the sticks).

High: Reading Mom excerpts of "Me Talk Pretty One Day," thoroughly distracting her from work, busting on Alex's school/teachers with him.
Low: Mom venting (she needed a sounding-board)
Color: Grayish-green

breakfast, boredom, diy fun, alcoholic teachers
