I am the only person in the entire city of Helsinki who wears sneakers whilst commuting. For real! These ladies are walking down the sidewalk in their pointy heels! That is SO true in Europe. Basically if you wear sneakers, you are clearly an American. Buy some Danskos and fit in!

They're essentially walking shoes. I used to walk the two miles home in them every day, plus I still wear them every day because if I don't, my feet hurt! Get some, spend the money, they last forever and they'll be your favorite shoes, plus you can wear them with or without socks.

Danskos are some of the more popular shoes for chefs to wear. If they're comfortable to stand up in for 12 hours days, you should be good walking to work. I never had a pair myself (I love my dishwasher-safe Birkenstocks!) but I knew several people who wore them and they all said they were very comfortable.
