Break

Break was great! Went by sooo fast! Brian told me that I had to update again, so here I am!

The Midwest Clinic in Chicago was fantastic. Jess and I stayed with my cousin Adam in the city, and we made sure to visit a local bar, get Pizzeria Uno, and Cheesecake Factory. Some of the speakers were great, some of them were so boring that I fell asleep...but the two things that made it all worthwhile were hearing the Dallas Wind Symphony and going to the MSU UofI party. Jess and I were personally invited by Madden and Sedatole, and the party was in T1 (the Hilton Towers, fancy suite, wine served...), and needless to say, it was fantastic. It's all about the networking.

Oh, and before Chicago, I went to Muir for a few days to observe Blanchard. Well, the first day I observed, as well as played clarinet and trombone with the sixth graders...and the second day, I conducted the Concert Band and Cadet Band!!! It was great! Conducting real kids!!! Woo!

After Chicago, I went to Philly with my mom to spend Christmas with her family. We got a flat tire on the way there, which was awful...but everything else was great! My little cousins aren't so little anymore--they're in 5th and 7th grade! It was great though. I love my family. Oh, and Meg and I got facials! It was awesome! We went to a pub to see her friends' band play, and they were great. Good trip.

Brian and I had our 2.5 year anniversary!!! We had J. Alexander's for lunch, and went to see Polar Express with IMAX 3D! It was sooo cool. We felt like kids again. I'll post some pictures of us with our cool goggles on later! The day was wonderful, as are all days when Brian and I are together! I love him soo much!

Went to Jason's for New Years, and that was tons of fun too! It was so nice to see the group again! Dana, Cory, Chelsea, Jason, Ellen, Mary, Kara, Steve, Caitlin, Brian, Laura--the old Milford crew. And some of us went bowling the other night too, and that was great. Especially since I bowled decently! I had 5 spares in one game! And a strike and a spare in the second. That's amazing for me! Lots of good photos on Facebook from both events. :) Hope you enjoy. Oh, and Casey and I had lunch the other day too! That was great! I'm sooo sad now that Dana and Casey don't come home very often anymore!!!

Kaden turned one year old on Saturday. He's growing sooo fast!

Classes start this week...grrr! But ln is supposed to come for bagels sometime this week, and Brian will visit me too! Yay! And it's my mom's bday on Sat, so I'll be home this weekend.

Rachel--sorry I never called you to see your new place. I still really want to though! We'll find some time.

Time for sleep--8 am tomorrow!
