Man oh man! Oh! Man! So, Justin (or is, perhaps, Jay, the preferred nomenclature at this point?) posts a little comment on my post back there, and I immediately run over and check out his journal (did not know he was on here), and am simultaneously blown the fuck away by the beautiful picture of him fixing bikes (oh jesus god, you rock my socks my

You are severely awesome.
The thing with "jay" is that I can't count all the "justins" I know on one hand. There are 3 in my german class. My best friend when I was little was named justin. My uncle's name is justin. The lead singer of anti-flag is name just(no negativity there). And, well, Justin Timberlake(negativity there, I have been called that). SO! I realized my name does nothing to describe me, nor does jay, but I like it more. And less people are called jay. But I don't tell anyone what to call me, I will usually introduce myself as jay. I don't mind eiter way. But personally, I like to identify myself differently.
Alright, I completely agree with you points of bike punkness. I just happen to be in both places(music-cycling). And most bike punks I know, also are into both things. Like you said "bike punk" can't just be slapped on at anytime. DO it or DON'T! It's a way of life. Even if you do still drive a car.
So my other bike(the red one is my mom's) is a 20-30 year old Sear Roebuck thing I found a garage sale for 15 dollars. I was going to fix it up and ride it all the time. But later that day I went to another garage sale and found my beautiful blue Schwinn for 10 dollars and didn't need to be fixed, so I just recently starte dworking on the white sears bike. It's heavy though. I remember talking about htis with in Philly now. You said a heavy bike could be good cause I could put a lot of baskets on it and haul stuff around. Or something to that extent.
much love
