So... I was poking about CVS for something cute to get Jeff (crowd cue: aaawwweee!) *rolls eyes* So yeah. As I was wandering about, I noticed the stuffed animals. As I was poking about them, right in front of me are these boxes that say "love, everybody wants it" then in smaller print "more love inside". So, at a slightly closer look, to my anger and desgust, the side said condoms. What the... ok. Love is NOT about sex, or anything physical like that. It sickens me greatly to see the world advertise love as nothing more than a lustful act. I could shoot the people who say it. Love is different. It's about being there for the other person, caring for them, wanting what's best for them, etc... it involves sacrifices. The dictionary defines it as:
love ( P ) Pronunciation Key (lv)
n.
1.deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness.
2.feeling of intense desire and attraction toward a person with whom one is disposed to make a pair; the emotion of sex and romance.
3.Sexual passion.
Sexual intercourse.
A love affair.
4.An intense emotional attachment, as for a pet or treasured object.
A person who is the object of deep or intense affection or attraction; beloved. Often used as a term of endearment.
5.An expression of one's affection: Send him my love.
Three is the one that gets to me. Sex can be something that happens because love is present, but it is not love. Shouldn't even be present till two people are married.
Ugh. The world pisses me off sometimes. heh
