I've had an interesting couple of days. On Wednesday, my mom and I made the journey from the Twin Cities to the Chicago suburbs. That night we discover that our oven has gone to the big appliance showroom in the sky, and my mom had to cook Thanksgiving dinner the next day. Cue extreme cursing and minor chaos. So my mom ended up going to my aunt and uncle's house to cook, and the family had dinner over there. Today my dad and I made the journey back to the Twin Cities. The trip was slow, but good, my dad and I only yelled at each other twice. We also found out that a relative has cancer that has spread to her brain, it doesn't look good. This has caused me to feel weird all day.
Over the holiday I saw two of the most awesome movies, here (if anyone cares) are my thoughts:
This is the best Harry Potter movie yet, but you already knew that. I still like the third movie better, because I like the third book better than the fourth one. The movie felt a little rushed, but I like the darker tone. The scene where Snape is laying the smack down in study hall was awesome. Because I'm a loser, I got completely choked up when Harry brought Cedric's body back, and turned into a sobbing mass of Potter, it was so sad.
I absolutely loved it. I had read some pretty negative reviews, and was a little nervous. I left the theater going 'Let's see it again, right now'. I will admit that some parts were dripping with cheese (Roger in the middle of the desert), the transitions kinda sucked, and at some points there were awkward pauses after the ends of songs, but it was awesome anyway. Even though I know the OBC recording and the movie soundtrack by heart, and could act out the entire show if I wanted to, I cried during 'I'll Cover You reprise'. I was sort of teary at the start of the song, but the second the camera panned to show Roger all red-eyed, tears flowing down his cheeks, I lost it, so did my mom. My favorite scene was 'Santa Fe' with it's Collins and subway choreography awesomeness. 'Tango Maureen' ruled and I loved the part in 'Light My Candle' when Roger put the candle out with his fingers, the little flinch he made was so cute. I just love Roger. Adam was awesome. Everyone was awesome. It was awesome. (And I should invest in a thesaurus)
I have an amazingly busy couple of weeks coming up, so probably no updates. Yay, super-stressed Liz!
