whoever designed the e-reader for the gameboy advance should be shot.
i bought mine used. no problem there, EB games has always been good for used stuff. i try to get it to work, and realize i need a gameboy advance link cable. okay, also no problem; i go out and buy one.
then i realize you need another gameboy advance.
ANOTHER GAMEBOY ADVANCE?!
i'm lucky to own one gameboy advance, let alone multiple gameboy advances!
i probably should've read up about the e-reader (the "e" most likely being for "expensive investment") on the internet before buying it. but i was under the impression (and so was the manager at EB games), that the e-reader inserts into the gameboy advance, and then the game cartridge inserts into the e-reader. well, weren't we mistaken!
you know, i don't mind buying hardware or accessories. i don't think that's unreasonable. but i don't really have $89.99 to dish out right now for a second unit of a handheld system that i already own. i'm debating keeping the e-reader until i get one of those gameboy advances whose button panels look like the original nintendo controllers. i was planning on getting one and then giving will the gameboy advance that i currently have. but unfortunately, this won't be possible until sometime in the future, seeing as i currently have a monetary balance of $0.
and no *sigh* this isn't the kind of "big deal" that "ends worlds", so to speak. "for real, mandi, it's just a video game system"--yeah, i know. but i was REALLY looking forward to adding some levels and power-ups to super mario bros. 3 that i bought for the GBA at the same time i bought the e-reader. (hell, it was why i bought the e-reader.)
i might get lucky in the future and find another used e-reader, should i choose to return this one now. but you can only buy new e-readers bundled with certain games, and apparently the e-reader isn't such a popular GBA accessory (or so i've been told. i think i can see why.). so their scarcity could potentially increase in the future.
hmm... to keep, or not to keep? that is the question. i hate owning things that i can't use in the present, but there's a distinct possibility that i might be able to use it in the future (either by buying another GBA; or, honey and dylan both own GBAs so i could use one of theirs when i move to ottawa).
wow. this post sounds so lame! "mandi vs. the e-reader, part I! THRILLS AND CHILLS! WELL, MAYBE JUST CHILLS...OF NAUSEA! MISS IT IF YOU CAN!"
i think i should just head to bed. :P
