Hey, I have no idea whether or not you remember me, but I think we were last lj-friends when I used the username never_enough, aka in the darkness of my depressed high school days, in like 2003. I actually was reading through an old notebook of quotes and LJ excerpts, and came across a comment that you left me back then that I wrote into my notebook. Anyway, I don't remember what made me decide to write down your comment, but when I read it just now, it made me think of you...and finding you was VERY difficult...I had to figure out what LJ username I used at that time (luckily I dated the entry in my notebook), and then went through my friends on there until I figured out who you were.
My point, though, was that I wanted to thank you for those words, which were nothing particularly special, just a reminder that things get better and we need to change the way we perceive situations in order to help things get better. I guess they were important then, seeing as I wrote them down, but they were actually just the thing I needed right now - four years later - as well.
So, I hope all is well with you, and I just wanted to share that.
I'm at my apartment and my notebook where I had written it down is still at my parents' house, so I don't remember exactly, but it was just something along the lines of, "I know it seems like everything is bad and I can't tell you not to be sad/depressed/anxious, but I can tell you that things will get better. You might have to work at it a little bit, and it's not always easy, but it gets better." and so forth. It was just very honest and genuine, and very much appreciated :)
