"You have 2 new obligations in your inbox"

I figure that the fad of myspace will be over soon. They are starting to make simular societies of "personal billboards" for artists, musicians and film makers etc.
Its funny how fucked people are that they have to make a group for themselves. You have a society on the internet where anyone can join anyone can post and anyone can basically do whatever they like. Ive seen some myspace pages that take the terms of sevice and fuck them like a cheap hooker. Its all in the idea of looking the coolest also. Who has the most friends, who has the best stupid fucking internet survey about your sexual positions correlation to the type of food you are or something completely not worth the time taken to complete the survey in the first place.

You know if you take a real life situation say music. We used to have a genre called punk. I don't know where the fuck it is now... Anyway punk was good it was raw. The people who started dressing up in 'wild & crazy' clothes did it because they had the freedom to and everyone you saw had a different style and enjoyed each others company and developed friends and all that useless shit they thaught they needed at the time. Then because it was so new and aimed at what every stupid kid who hit puberty was thinking it got popular VERY popular. As soon as this happened punk broke up into smaller groups where they would have different sound and voice so therefore then thaught they needed a subdivided genre. So they developed Hardcore Punk and Grrl Punk and fucking Political Punk, Romantic Punk, Oi Punk and whatever the hell others I forgot to mention. Now it isn't enough that the sound needed to be grouped into smaller defining groups the people who dressed up started to subdivide to. People with mohawks would listen to political punk while the skinheads sticked to OI!. They ultimate originality of the whole idea of punk started to get rules and regulations in order to "grow". As soon as it hit the late 80's and early 90's punk was more or less forgotten.

Then it got a little weird where years later the new bands took punk because of its established image warped it and kept it. Punk was updated to an oppressed youths ideas today. Which mostly was depression, suicide and fucking your girlfriend if you had one at the time. If you didn't you would listen to a different song about how sad it is not having a girlfriend. The music was still good. It was damn good I must have given greenday and millencolin alot of my money but at the age I was looking around and seeing skateboards and cargo shorts and a whole new image for the new style of punk. Punk was revived from its nap and conformed to meet the new economical world. The revolution grew over the years until it eventually started changing and changing and "evolving" some idiots would say. Until the punk lost its political image and became mostly about the oppressed feelings you had. Some say that is when Emo was born when there was no Good Charlette around. As soon as Emo became popular you started to see the conformity happening again. Until every idiot in the street could describe one to you. It was so easy to fit in until thet got broken up into groups also. The Emo's would like the screamos but hate the hardcores... or whatever the fuck they decided.

Different groups of "punks" even tho the meaning of the word was lost and all the bands you grew up with in high school were coined "old skool" and the real REAL old school the original message and music was lost forever i guess it is "old old school" or something.
The stupid fucking thing is that they consider all this to be making the music better. But it isn't its all about the popularity and the fucking subconcious polotics associated with stereotyped groups and their power in a hierarchy. I mean it's getting so fucking stupid that it has turned from a musical style to a spoken word serman. Preaching the idea of anti-drug addiction and the whole straight edge thing almost made me vomit.

The fact of the matter is the punks were all about self development. The freedom you have is ultimately the choices you make. Your not fucking free in this world its just what the more powerful people tell you. Its like putting a horse in a paddock surrounded by fence and telling it that its free to run around. Then when you dont want the horse anymore you shoot it. The stupid idea that a "Punk" band will tell you how to think how to live as if its fucking religeon makes me sick to the stomach. I mean its one thing to write about your experiences and tell your own story but to tell people that its bad to tell people its wrong without them experiencing it themselves and their own free choice to do so is so fucking anti punk that every time i see a fucking X on someones hand i wanna blow smoke in their face.

I mean its okay if you dont like drugs and alcahol and wanna be pure or whatever. But you don't need to showcase it just to let people know what you are. I mean you dont see a gay dude walking down the street with "Im a dirty cock sucker" written all over his shirt and arms and legs. I mean advertising it on your hand or a tattoo somewhere so other straight edgers can see it and yell "Yey! someone in my stereotype!" It just seems so illogical. You end up with this idea your an 'individual' talking about how different you are from most people with your straight edge friend you just met. Telling each other how much you hate drugs but your wearing all black your favorite coheed shirt and fucking X's all over you.

So who is the real punks in this world? the people who listen to the "punk" music of today or the people who fucking hate it? or has punk finally been shot in the head by the terrorist we know as money and MTV.
