Why does all candy have gelatin?

Why does all candy have gelatin in this country?

All I can find gelatin free are chocolate and some hard candy. So I don't want to be limited to dark chocolate and 3 hard candy brands.

EVERYTHING from jellybeans to marshmallows and any soft candy to 80 % of the hard mints have gelatin in it!!! Argh!!!

Gelatin is made of animal parts. I don't care if it's pork or beef gelatin. The point is, I don't want that stuff in my candy. And I'm not pleased with the selection I have here.
In one Asian grocery I found Haribo's (never mind the site that link goes to, it just was the only one I could find with some more info about these specific candy) Halal / Kosher / Vegan edition of gummybears and other candies that used pectin. I love those. But now for months they have been out of them. And I'm ending up having to have my candy shipped here from US ....

And for clarification : it's not the being kosher or halal that I try to get. I just don't want to eat parts of animals that I don't want to eat anyway, for the sake of not eating the animals. Ideologically it does not fit to go vegetarian, and then stuff yourself with candy full of gelatin.
